Beautifully restored to honour its original 1927 design: Don’t mind the leaky tarp and the rusting copper door

    Toronto Toronto | St Clair-Old Weston GO Station | 9.13m | 1s | City of Toronto | Hatch

Full rendering of St. Clair-Old Weston: The 185 metre GO platform that will go unused is still being built, with platform canopies and an accessibility platform: The UP Express platform is longer than other stations, 4 car UP trains can use this station.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

(Crossposting from the ALTO thread) If Urban is right, could this be a reason why theres such a lack of movement on the remaining ST line projects + re-engineering highland creek bridge?

I’m saying the wall doesn’t need to come down when the staircase is removed. It could be removed (if the wall isn’t load bearing), but it’s not required.

It wouldn’t, the only part of the wall that needs to come down when the temporary market staircase needs to be removed are are the spots where the drywall goes from floor to ceiling. These spots are where doors used to be:

Honestly no idea beyond removing the doors between the VIA Concourse and the arcade hallway, but I’m sure theres something that could have happened to distribute everyone better

I totally get the dirty feeling the space gives off, I imagine the harsh direct lighting, the acoustics, and the dingy brown tiles contribute a lot to that. I find the whole VIA Concourse extremely under-utilised after VIA service ends (which is at like 6pm), the entire space empties out while...

Here’s the difference in lighting between the new TD lounge and the rest of the concourse. If the whole concourse was furnished and renovated like the TD alcove was, I don’t think I would have any problems with this space. Both photos completely unedited to keep the comparison fair

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Yesterday the Metrolinx CEO posted a photo of the newest version of the integrated transit map: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/michael-lindsay-4545b873_morning-toronto-metrolinx-regional-network-activity-7400172392003690496-ofVn Some GO related things that changed from the last version: •...

Warmer lighting would nice too, look at the brand new TD Lounge in the VIA concourse, it has much nicer warmer toned LED lights and the difference is super noticeable. I’ll take a photo sometime tomorrow

Alto - High Speed Rail (Toronto-Quebec City)

As far as I know (and my diagram uses a older platform reconfiguration design that might not necessarily be accurate anymore), most tracks were not going to move, tracks were going to be taken out and replaced with expanded platform space: I can’t imagine there would need to be any...

Alto - High Speed Rail (Toronto-Quebec City)

The entire station remained open and functional when the shed was almost entirely taken apart for renovations.
