GO Transit Fleet Equipment and other

Just a few messages up someone explained to you why it’s been a drawn out process. Coaches up until this point have only been repainted after undergoing a full refurbishment. I try not be to be snarky on UrbanToronto but please, don’t say anything if you aren’t reading the thread

GO Transit Fleet Equipment and other

I don't think you understand how equipment is cycled and maintained. You’re constantly complaining about how Metrolinx wastes money, yet you’d like to see more fuel, employees, and hours (all $$$$) go towards rearranging trains in a unrealistic way that’s unnecessary and doesn’t impact the...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I could be an outlier but I wouldn’t mind hearing more about this type of stuff as it happens. Seems perfectly fit for this thread

I forgot to say this in the other message, the curve of the subway tunnel up to University isn’t shown in that diagram, I’m not exactly sure how far the curve starts from the platforms, but there might not be any space to add an entrance on the west side

No problem! For reference the 7 squares on the middle sections upper left corner are the future retail locations for the moat, seen in the rendering you posted:

This happened before a big storm in winter 2022 or 23, they updated the PDF schedules for all routes with affected service too. Didn’t happen this time

While not exactly related to the real equipment, i bet this would still be neat to some of you I recently purchased these old paper trains I assume were made to promote the Metrolinx rebrand in 2013:

The paddles have been around for a couple years now, from one of metrolinxs promo videos: There’s also a process that customer service staff do without a paddle, which can be seen throughout this video: At and outside of Long Branch GO I’ve almost never seen staff doing this, really not...

Looks like they made a fenced corridor through the park between the north and south buildings. Guess the park won’t be ready for a winter opening (surprise surprise) Anyone know when the ground level public areas are going to open? This was from last Sunday

The only place to see the length of the train at Union is on the platform screens, maybe this is where you get that info from? Or an app too, a lot of them include that info now There’s a lot metrolinx should do to better communicate the length of trains to customers. The new automated...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I assure you this information was removed in early 2024 I’ve taken a lot of photos in Union over the years. The last photo I have that shows the length info was May 12th, 2024 Feb 4th 2026: Nov 29 2025: May 30 2025 Oct 6 2024 Sep 29 2024 May 12 2024 - last picture I have showing the...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Based on feedback received, the train length info was removed from the concourse screens 2 weeks after the screens launched. That information hasn’t been present for almost two years.

The screens were set up for this, the photo you attached was the original version that rolled out in 2024. First version: The “to” column was intended to display the final destination, but I guess somewhere along the development process, the line names were chosen to be displayed instead. A...

How long did Mount Dennis take before work slowed down as the Line 5 opening date kept slipping? They built a diversion around the first two platforms too
