The City of Halifax, Nova Scotia is currently in the midst of studying a series of proposals and plans in regards to the potential possibilities for re-introducing some form of light rail network, either in the form of a modern streetcar network, or a commuter rail system to city streets. Dating back to at least 2008, these plans have been largely on hold, the city bereft of the funding necessary, not to mention the political will to see such a project through.


 
Any updates since then? I've always thought the city should revive both its streetcar system AND add a commuter rail option...
