No seriously. It doesn't exist. And why don't wouldn't you have this for other amalgamated cities where the former municipalities originated as actual towns which are much more visible (e.g: Woodbridge, Stoney Creek), and whose sense of independence is taken a lot more seriously even by non-locals?

Sir, you have the wrong room. I'm just a guy that takes aerial photos when I have time. The ins and outs of the amalgamation debate I moved past circa 1998.

Former General Electric Lamp plant site in Oakville after demolition in 2011. The office building was declared a heritage building so it remains. I found it very odd that the interior lights were on at night until a couple of years ago and you could see in while driving past it on the QEW.

Drove by here today and was surprised to see that work has begun on developing this parcel of property for a new Access Storage location.

Saw more posts and was expecting to see more aerial shots...
Yeah, I know. Such is life right now. I think I might still have stuff from my last flight day, July 7th, I still haven't posted yet.

In the meantime, here is a ground based shot at the Clarkson Crossing plaza (SW corner of Royal Windsor and Southdown) of the former Turtle Jacks and other businesses in that building being demolished. Nothing in the database so I don't know what the plan is for this little strip on the east side. I happened to catch this today while out with my little one at the Canadian Tire. Camp dad for another 11 days but who's counting :)

So I was walking around Brightwater today with my wife, finally checking out the stores, and it reminded me of all the times I flew over the site. Later in the afternoon I see @rdaner's fabulous photos and it inspired me to dust off the Mini3pro, get those batteries charged up and carve out a little time to fly and post. I did a little driveway flight after dinner before the sky turned angry and I'll post some of those soon. In the meantime, I still have a few shots from July 7th that might not have been posted.

Here are a few of those July 7th photos:

EMTC across the street. Normally the grass would be quite brown by now but not this year!

Old General Electric plant property that has been converted into Access Storage: It looks like they are just gonna install a couple of gates, make a fence out of old containers and call it done. Somehow I was expecting more.

Very unsubstantiated ‘rumour’ ….. I was told this is just a placeholder lease to cover some of the ongoing land costs, and the owners(s)/developer(s) will hold out for their price, especially as Mid-Town Oakville rises at some point from the drawing boards and tribunal hearings and gets underway. Anyone with better or more accurate info, please feel free to update this information .

That makes sense.
