And that doesn't take into account the secret settlement with RTG. Or the secret settlement with one of the Stage 2 contractors (we're not privy to know which one). Funny how one contractor can claim damages for Covid, while another does not. Maybe the contractor claiming the damages is B.S. Maybe by accepting the to pay the damages, we're inviting the other contractor to do the same. My bet is that this settlement was with TNext, since it has to do with delays. They're 100% behind schedule, while TNext is only 12% and 30% behind, more or less.

Meanwhile, cost overruns in the GTA are absorbed by the Province, no questions asked.

Oh wow! I have never seen a progress shot of this one. Those newish townhouses sure got a prime spot for transit, jeez. They were built in 2014, I just checked geoOttawa. Too bad, it would have been a great spot for a tower.

Pretty cool to see the expanded Bayview Station. Too bad the overpass will remain a bridge to nowhere for likely years to come.

Much of it will be hidden once the Flats are redeveloped, but new skyline views will be created all around.

Damn.
Can't help but think we are building heavy-rail infrastructure to move light-rail trams and expecting subway-like level of service out of it.
And getting light-rail reliability with heavy-rail level of service and subway price tag.
Yes to all of it.

Yesterday I noticed a lot more LRT testing activity on the eastern stretch of the line between Montreal Station and Place D'Orleans Station. Spotted two double-car trains moving in both east and west directions down the median of the 174 at full speed (~80-85 km/hr based on my car's speedometer keeping pace with it). In the evenings, they seem to park them over at Montreal Station for the night and then take them out for full runs during the day.

There's been 4 double car sets on the line for a couple of weeks, generally two parked at Trim and two at Montreal overnight.
