Was this worth the required paint touch up every 5 years moving forward?

I'd rather them just raze the whole thing and build something else.
Which leads me to the question to why it's always our historical office building which get razed, while POS one's like this one stick around? It's not like this one is great from this inside anyways. (It's a hypothetical question, I know vacancy rates play a factor).

Older plates are smaller and don't work for modern corporations, regardless of the building's perceived architectural superiority. Hence, they're often the first to get targeted for redevelopment.

I am not clear what the final look will be. Is that white paint/cladding facing Wellington Street the finished product because I like it much more than the dark gray on the rest of the building.

Looks better in this TD Center black colour. Still should have left the concrete unpainted though but at least it wasn’t that generic Toronto grey like in older photos.

Yeah the grey looked bad but the black actually kinda works. That said, would not complain if we replaced this entire structure someday, it's pretty generic.

I don't think it's an improvement - I'm not a fan of significantly modifying buildings' original architectural intents - but it's not awful either.
