Depending on your time, you should take a look from Steeles to Topflight as well for the whole section of Topflight Road to the 407 OMSF area. They have the guideway area south of the 407 almost ready to pour it.

This is from a July to September quarterly report to Metrolinx's board. It was posted to Metrolinx's website, and I downloaded a copy before it was removed.

The walkway is open but clearly not finished as of now. The sidewalk on the other side is supposedly closed, although I saw a jogger go through it.

Did the contractor replace the fencing for all the backyard properties backing onto Hurontario?

I have actually taken both photos and videos of the guideway around the 407 area. My main focuses were actually the area around MCC and the 407/Topflight area. Now with more work happening in Brampton, that'll be my main focus for those who can't commute here all the time.
On my last trip to the area, nothing changed around Steeles. Friend in a double decker GO bus that happened to be going northbound on Steeles towards downtown Brampton the other day said he noticed a bunch of construction work happening around the Steeles/Main intersection on the northbound side. Said it looked like they were placing a trench box into the ground around the sidewalk area, but he wasn't sure what it was for.

I haven't looked at the south-east corner of Steeles in the past two weeks to see what is taking place and hard to tell driving by it but is happening after all these months.
The north-wast corner of Ray Lawson is being dug up again but just north of it to the north side of the fire station is ready for curb work and paving of the curb lane. Once that is done was well what been dug up by the substation, trafiic can be shifted to those lanes to allow the guideway to be dug.
All the asphalt that was pile up yesterday for the new guideway north of the 407 was gone when I drove by it today. The guideway is being dug from both ends.. I shot a video of Brampton yesterday but fail to record it but did record the Mississauga section, Shot a video both way today before heading to Kitchener.
As for around MCC, the giudeway been in place most of the year and top the retaining walls for the wye area and don't see any concrete base for it. Not sure what they are doing for the ramp connection to Hurontario as I see no real work done in the past few weeks for it.
You will see major trackwork From Square One Dr to Angus with tracks been poured into position. Nothing on Rathburn has been done in months.
Not sure who or what been done in the hydro corrdor next the Hurontario but a lot of equipment there as well manpower with gravel around the base of the towers.

The 2026 Major push started 2 weeks ago with things changing weekly, daily and hourly now with mote push coming in the next few weeks.
Hydro poles were installed last night for the west side between the CP bridge and the walkway as expected but not sure about the two poles north of the walkway. Then there is an area by the bridge that says there is a pole missing as well what is going to happen from the CP bridge to Dundas St.
Do not use Hurontario south of the QEW as its a war zone with huge traffic backup northbound and Cawthra is not that much better. Pedestrian sidewalk in the curb lane as work has finally started on the new northbound curb lanes as well utility work. Communications cables are to be remove from all poles on both side of the street that need to be remove to allow the southbound curb lane to open and build the northbound,
Trackwork may start next week by the fire station so it can be encase in concrete for the new driveway for the station.
Concrete base for Hillcrest intersection was been poured today. Construction has started on King St intersection with only one lane open for the area with backup.
Concrete has been poured between the tracks and curbs as well between the tracks this past week.
Trackwork taking place between Central Pkwy and Elm as well Mathew Gates and Burnhamorpe for placing the mats and ties.
Concrete is being poured to anchor ties in places in many locations where the trackwork is ready for it as well next week.
Steel mats and ties are being place for the 401 overpass with concrete been pour for it in the next 2 weeks.
Fencing has been placed on the retaining walls for the Mary Fix Creek, Nothing new for the Port Credit Station
SHL installing power cables for the poles to support the overhead system at Topflight and they are one of a number of companies that will be working on the overhead system. It been noted that if the plan completion of trackwork to Eglinton from Topflight by July to start testing the fleet, it wouldn't happen as plan as there is no power for the line yest.
In complete engineering drawings are still showing up with no ready for constrion or Constitution of x on then that trades are still seeing new revised drawings every few days or in a week or two.
As a note, Highland Farms Grocery store at Matheson has closed their doors as of Thursday and not surprised as it was over price in the first place and wasn't busy in the first place. Very rare I bought anything there in the first place considering the wife like the store. Too far out of the way..

Are you feeling more optimistic about an opening time with all this recent activity or is it too little too late?

Still staying with my timeframe as there are too many unknown issues and timeframe. This winter is supposed to be bad than the last few years and will impact the work on the line.
If all tracks.are inplace by the summer, you could see full testing by Q2-Q4 but look at how much sidewalk has to be built for the whole corrder, removing asphalt curbs with concrete. even the talk of the street doesn't see service until 2028-29 with some saying it will open in the next 4 years as they retire.
If the substations has no power, how do you test the LRV's? the first car to test the line will be pull at walking speed to check clarence for the LRV that will be follow by power slow walking speed with increasing of speed to x to start testing.
No word on updating of the EA for the loop, who will build it and when will the wye at Burnhamorpe intersection will be built that will tak 5-6 months to do it let alone start building it??
Brampton extension is too far down the road and no effect on the opening date other than the station is in the wrong location.

Amico is out on the road south of Ray Lawson on a Sunday which is surprising to say the least. The construction notice mentioned Monday to Saturday work, it but seems they really want to get as much done as possible before the first significant snowfall.
Having a look while driving by, and it's impressive just how much work they did with the median if they started on the 17th.
407 NB of Topflight still not opened up, I'm going to hazard a guess that they want to keep that section closed off for now so they can shift the construction zone to build more of the guideway from the topflight area, and connect it to the section of Ray Lawson.
Topflight appears to be completely reopened to traffic both ways now. Again, still waiting for more sunlight before I go back and take more photos to fully confirm this.

Mineola has crews on site as well, though its not clear what they're doing this morning.

Is it me, or is this project just moving exceptionally slowly? It seems we've been seeing photos of uncomplete and not yet started sections for years! It didn't feel that way for Finch.

I have to disagree. I think It was one of the best grocery stores in the GTA. Family run and high quality products. It was not the cheapest but was better priced than Metro, Loblaws and Fortinos.
Talked to the owner few months ago and he blamed the changing demographics but also the fact the LRT construction made people think twice about driving on Hurontario. I suppose Covid and the ensuing inflation didn’t help much either.
