Part 4
Hwy 403 to Cental Pkwy
I will add this since some think the elevated section could be built to the centre of Hurontario from the Rathburn elevated bridge since they haven't seen the area and drawing a line on a map. Clearly there isn't enought cleance room to do so. The sloping of the elevated section starts on the southside of the 403 ramp and by the time it hits the south end of the elevated section at Rathburn Rd it is about 8-12 feet high and took some shots of it on Tuesday. I did stated that the slope should start at Sq One Dr but said later there wasn't enough room to get the slope to street level at Robert Speck with the station being move to the southside. If the elevated section was to move to the centre of Hurontario over Sq One Dr, it will have to start curving south of the 403 off ramp with a support pier on both side of Rathburn overpass with a very long support beam to span that overpass

The distance between Sq Ond Dr and Robert Speck is about 240 meters that can support a steep grade that will cause issues and will be rule out. The Station would have to be move to the southside that will cause sone issues to the point like no left turn going north just like it will happen at dundas. There is no place to put in a ramp until Fairview that has enough room to do it. This means there will be two elevated stations requiring two elevators per station as well a stair to get to the platform.

Steel mats are in the guideway with ties from Sq One Dr to Robert Speck Station on Sunday and the last of the ties would be in place Tuesday night

Trackwork between Robert Speck Intersection to Absolute intersection have leveling bolts in place. The last of the missing ties have been installed at Burnhamthorpe end. Northbound traffic was not only backup from Matthew Gates to Sq One Dr with a very small left turning lane at Robert Speck due to been in a single lane, it was blocking westbound traffic on Burnhamthorpe Rd by left turning eastbound traffic as well those going north on Hurontario.

Steel Mats place in the area between Burnhamorpe And Matthew Gates. All ties are in place with rail laying on the side between Mathew Gates and Elm Dr. Some rails have been place along the side of the guideway between Elm and CP with most of the rest in a pile.

There are two different contracors doing the trackwork with A&B Rail Service doing CP to Sq One and PNR Rail works doing CP to Dundas. They need two to three concrators doing the rail work to try to get the line open in late 2027 A&B Rail Service has been doing the Topflight work and other work north of the 401.

Could not see what was happening for the north ramp to Hurontario on my way hom and did not have the time to take a look at it.

All of Sunday and Tuesday shots up on my site for the corridor.

Why would they get off at Queen when Steels would be better or Derry that are closer to the OMSF??

Derry dosn't have a left turn lane off Kenndey but easier to make the turn into the OMSF than a right turn from Steeles.

I guess this will join the rest inside of the OMSF with one currently inside been move outside or it will join the rest that are in the yard.

Why do you want to removed your posting???

I love how the pace always seems to pick up right before winter, whereas during the summer it was an extremely leisurely pace. It really doesn't make sense to me.
I think it had to do with cash flow; finding all the areas where there are track issues and start fixing them; getting engineering drawings up to 100%; getting ready for winter and hiring a track crews with their schedule to start work.

You only have one of the two construction partners doing the main work this year and very little of BOTT. There was another construction crew working on Topflight and OMSF trackwork.

Haven't heard when various intersections will be close for guideway and trackwork that were to start with King St follow by Dundas before the summer. Doing Fairview will give a clear run of trackwork from Sq One Dr to John St once the Burnhamthorpe station trackwork is done. Will not be surprise not to see that work done until after Burnhamthorpe intersect is torn up and rebuilt for the wye which will be unhappy days of poor traffic and transit mess using only one lane for 5 months with no left turning there.

No word when Metrolinx is going before any council since the Mississauga one for today never happen.

The last two months have been the most busy time for new construction.

For most companies that rely on quarterly earnings in order to get things done, they usually start moving quicker around the 3rd or 4th quarter. The 1st/2nd quarter are often quarters where they shore up their funds and try to cut spending and manpower elsewhere and prioritize emergency works or works that may have longer than anticipated timelines (Topflight, other intersections that needed to be ripped up). The 3rd and 4th quarter or just before the 3rd quarter hits is where you see more and more work start taking place because the funds have been realized or secured, and more people can be paid to either bring or install material.

In this instance with funding aside and Amico taking the lead on the project, they may have gone back to the drawing board to evaluate parts of the project where they were not on previously, and have either asked Mobilinx to bring in a dedicated rail company, or have subcontracted the rail company themselves to ensure that the work is done properly the first time. Since this is the first year I've seen those dedicated rail companies in the corridor, I imagine it's not going to be the last, and they may spend the entire 4th quarter going into the 1st-2nd quarter evaluating future works and ensuring it gets done right the first time to avoid the bottlenecks and issues that were learned in other parts of the project when it started.

Part 5
Central Pkwy to John St
Hydro has completed the work they were doing at various poles on the westside noth of Fairview.

No idea why they left a large section at Fairview without trackwork considering other intersections were left with a smaller area next to the area where intersection work still had to take place on the north side. The south side has a smaller area.

Concrete for the trackwork was poured to the south of the walkway by the apartmenr building. There was only a small section still to be done and should be done by Tuesday.

What every being installed in the northbound lane that had traffic shifted up onto the the labd where the sidewalk used to be is now completed and paved.

No idea what is taking place on the westside sidewalk area that has equipment there.

The rest of the trackwork from where the tracks stop north of the CPKC bridge still has to be installed and only after the built rest of the centre curb to the bridge. Not sure if concrete has been poured for the protection of the bridge pier that rebar built around it as it was trap.

What is being built at the north end of John Station will see a steel structure as there are anchor bolts for columns on it. Looks like concrete has been poured for the station platform as it was trap with a heater in place.

The section between John St and Hillcrest is still a storage area for steel mat's. Did not get a look at the other section as my bus was coming.

No word when the 3 intersections will see work for the guideway and trackwork to make the section Ffrom Sq One Dr to Dundas totaly completed considering it was supposed all the way to the North Service Rd by the end of the year.

Yeah I have no idea either. It's been a pain getting to Cooksville GO this week. I thought they were done whatever they were doing there previously when they paved the sidewalk. But apparently not, and it's hard to get a good view of what exactly they're doing. It's not that close to the staircase to the GO station.

Thanks as I hoping you would have better info as I only saw it from the east side. Is the area close for the sidewalk again ot part of it block off?? It could be hydro work when they insatall sidewalk lighting.

I wish I could give more info. The staircase up to Cooksville GO isn't in itself closed, but the entrance from the north is closed immediately at the bottom of the staircase. So you are forced to go south, and I cross at John to head back north. Despite the large equipment I have seen at some points, when I am actually walking up the staircase and looking north, I don't see anything going on. It's not like the paths that were paved a few months ago are being torn up or anything--they're fully intact as far as I can see. I had initially thought that they might be doing more grading work, but I haven't actually seen any. Hydro work would make a lot more sense. They had been doing hydro work further north earlier.

Ultimately I just want it to open back up and save me a few minutes when I'm going to the station.

What I saw today looks like holes are being dug for light post for the road with round drainage tubes off to the side. I expect these tubes will be place around rebar to allow concrete support for the light post or the post itself and keep water away from the posts.

We all should a royal clapping of our rear at another poor communication from Metrolinx and Moblinx for pedestrians. Sign said sidewalk close but it is not close as both walks are open to the walkway with no sign on that fence.

Hillcrest is lacking signage to cross Hurontarion now that intersection is fully closed for guideway work with the crossing south of Hillcrest, Lots of poorly communication heading our way in the next few months.

Fairview intersection is to be fully close with fire department using Joane Dr to the west to loop back to go north or east.

Give the community office a call and tell them of your and other cunnuters concerns. The more they hear it from other only helps me dealing with them. They are follow me.

Working on today posting for the corridor

Photos will follow later

Communication is an unknown thing for Metrolinx and Mobilinx at all levels but mainly pedestrians. Lack of real signage at Fairview for the westside sidewalk close at the walkway and how to cross Hurontario for the close intersection due to building the guideway across it from November 6 to December 10. Even northbound traffic was reduced to a single lane north of Dundas that it was taking 10-15 minutes to get to John St after crossing Dundas when you could find a spot to do so. Both miWay routes 2 and 103 had 2 buses each in the same block at the same time considering the 2 is every 14 minutes and the 103 is every 22-23 minutes.

Crews were caulking the guideway joints between CP and Fairview. Concrete has been poured for the last of most of the tracks south of the walkway. See posting above for west sidewalk. The concrete protection on the CPKC pier has been poured. Rebar for the north end of Cooksville station platform has been installed for a floor in the area that will have steel columns for X.

The guideway between John St and Hillcrest has all the material removed from it so the excavator could start digging up Hillcrest intersection from November 8 to December 10 for the guideway and trackwork.

Large gap from Hillcrest to where the trackwork starts south of the intersection. A small section of the northbound has been poured with trap over with a heater for. Trackwork being done for the southbound trackwork as well for the northbound.

Two months or so after it was supposed to be done, Dundas is back to normal with some paving this coming week for the manhole that has being causing all the problems and still fence off.

Crews were moving duct banks to two different location that were store at King St as King St intersection will be done either later this month or in December that is only 4 months late now.

Trackwork being placed in the guideway between King St and Paisley. Looking south at Paisley it looked like guideway work has taken place at the fire station area. The guideway has been built across the fire station driveway with the fire trucks using a angle lane north of the driveway. Was told that once the trackwork has been installed with a topcoat, asphalt ramp will be built to allow the trucks to go north. Odd they did not put in a driveway cut like they did up in the north end.

Queensway southbound lanes back to normal that allow the guideway to be built.

The 4 poles at the North Service Rd still standing with various parts of the road dug up for hydro work.

Waited close for 30 minutes for a 2 southbound and could have walked to Port Credit faster due the northbound mess at Dundas with no changes to PC.

All the construction trailers are gone at PC that you now get a closeup look at the station as well as the ramp sidewalk. The old GO parking lot is Now a Pay parking lot 7/24 by the new owner.

By the look of the station, all the cinder block work looks completed but very little has taken place my last visited. The first plane of glazing is on one east window as well at the north entrance for the station with the cover walkway from it.

They have used concrete blocks on the east side of Hurontario where the station power supply is and have never seen this style before.

I was planning on going somewhere else for photographing with the sky becoming real dark long before sunset I decided to head home. While on the bus I decided to switch at Dundas to catch the 103 to have a ride over Topflight intersection and maybe the new 407 bridge and how wrong I was doing it.

No change to the 401 overpass.

Good chunk of Courtney Park Station Framing up.

Crews had most of Skyway mill out from what I could see with the crosswalk in place and working on it.

Had a look at Derry station to see if they had finished the outstanding work flashing on it with Courtney taking place and it is not.

Looks like only a small section of Kingsway northbound track that was removed sometime ago was needed to be fixed as it is now trap.

Topflight still close with traps roll up and patch work taking place on the concrete. The northside paving is done for the area between the track and the road and couldn't tell if the missing section on Topflight was done. Large milling machines and paving equipment sitting there either waiting to be move or to do Hurontario from the bus driveway to south of the 407 bridge tonight or Sunday night to have everything ready for Monday with the lanes strip.

Various sections of the northbound curb lane and curb from the 407 to Steeles have been saw cutout with either curb been rebuilt and road pave later or have an asphalt curb while the lane is pave as it the only thing from opening up the northbound lanes..

Work taking place south of the walkway where there are holes beside the retraining wall and will say these drainage tube are for protection of the road light poles that will be bury after the poles are place and supported.

This sign shows how clueless Metrolinx and Mobilinx are for communication for pedestrians. There are two sidewalk at this point that can get people to the GO station and John St and no indication pedestrians need to use the east sidewalk as the sidewalk is closed at the walkway.
