Im surprised they even included 1 retail bay. This development is one block from 3 different retail nodes. One little shop will be nice, and will certainly suffice.

I still don’t forgive Truman for demolishing the old apartment block.

And the Gresham Block and the strip at First and Tenth. I fear for what remaining historic stock we have with a developer as aggressive as Truman is. Hopefully they never acquire the old Bay building downtown.

I almost want to give Truman a failing grade, despite all they have built and have currently proposed. I would trade half the stuff they have built if they would have preserved or at least incorporated some of these historical properties into the new building. It’s honestly disgusting when you think about it. They have the money to do it, they just choose not to give a shit.

It seems beyond greed or laziness and almost sheer arrogance. Like no respect whatsoever for what exists or came before their vision. I also fear the push of luxury unaffordable properties and Ontario investor condos. The urban fabric may suffer in the longterm.
