I'm actually quite surprised that there hasn't been some sort of movement on the little section between the 102 Street Station of the LRT and the entrance to where the hotel is. That route I see a number of people using including myself when going to Rogers Place for concerts or hockey games. Even a coffee shop or something would be nice to see near the hotel entrance inside the mall.

I am surprised too because this area is busier with the LRT running now. I feel that the financial situation with the mall may be one of the main things that has slowed things down here.

I just went by there and it looks like it is. The pop-up is in the old Shoppers space, but it only is using part of it.

Am I the only person disappointed in the lack of standard enforcement with the new shops going in to the mall? Signage looks very cheap which does not encourage faith in future development

Yeah, it's hard to disagree. Their new tenants, for the most part, are pretty low-tier. Honestly, Revolver is the only somewhat appealing one to me!

IMO any decent retailer who isn't a pawn shop or something horrible is a net plus and draws in some more people who may also support other nearby business. Better than an empty space, at this point doesn't need to be fancy.

When I went by yesterday, it looked like Unified has also now popped up in the old Country Cozy spot, not sure what that is about, but IMO that is a very good spot for them.

Also it looks like something might be happening with the space next to Flags International.

I believe the purpose is for updates about what is happening here and related discussion. However, I do agree it seems to have lost its way in that it has become a place for a lot of bitter negativity.

It's a topsy-turvy world, and maybe the problems of a dying downtown mall don't amount to a hill of beans. But this is our hill. And these are our beans!

I’m not sure what you mean by weak, I think it’s a fair point. I could be wrong, but I thought this thread was about updates related to a renovation and not whether a Booster Juice was potentially opening or closing.
