No juicy drawings for this one yet, but the development permit was submitted last Thursday and is now under review. Another office conversion project that did not require any public subisdy, wouldn't you know (don't tell Kalen Anderson at BILD that!).

Incredibly funny for that line of argument to just be fully refuted tbh. Adding this to the list.

Based on Q3 2025 numbers, this conversion alone would reduce the downtown office vacancy from 18.2% to 17.7%.

Someone previously pointed out that the north facade of this building is a blank wall since it was built on the property line, which makes me curious how they are planning to make this conversion work.

The reduced vacancy rate would be good news. I used to work in this building when it was fairly full with various tenants, it was sad to see them pushed out and what happened with it becoming so empty.

It would be a bit of an undertaking, but I wonder if they could put a some windows on the north side, at least enough to make it work. Otherwise I feel the building is about the right size for a conversion.

Let me introduce to you another contender for the race to the bottom...
Oh perhaps the plain is they will just call it luxury accommodation in the nice brochures and it will be great, like developers often do.

However with slowing immigration and increasing supply, I feel renters are about to become much more picky right by the time this is done.
