Any insiders know how competitive these positions are? Curious how much of a shot my application has.

Town of Gibbons has no cash and took a change in council to figure it out.

Weird that this is recent news, their financial standing has been published by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs annually for over a decade now, and they were flagged for poor financial health last year.

EDIT: I suppose I mean 2 years ago now. 2024. And you can click "List of Municipalities Flagged" to see the other naughty list municipalities alongside Gibbons.

And Gibbons borrowed money to provide services to a greenfield development south of the town. The worst part is it’s not even connected by town roads. You have to go onto hwy 28A to reach it. But hey they have an A&W, gas station, liquor store and a grocery store at least. Grocery store would have been better to be more central. Council got hoodwinked by developers promising lots of tax revenue. Residential development still hadn’t started last time I went through.

This is true, but it is nice to have a bathroom on the route up northeast.

Local shit poster and all-around failure Jesse Watson has been accused of harassment after attempted doxxing: posting a photo of Councillor Rutherford's vehicle outside her house. Should he be criminally charged for his threatening behaviour pattern?

Not sure it’s criminal, but he tows the line.

Bit of a TMZ vibe. Gossip and insinuation without fully claiming to know for sure.

Stir the pot. Create distrust and rage. Then say “well I never actually claimed…”

Him and I have chatted a decent amount in the comments and dms. I’ve tried to encourage him that disinformation and misinformation isn’t accountability and doesn’t move our society in a better direction. There’s crap to call out for sure, but his approach lacks concrete evidence and thoroughness and instead ragebaits the misinformed with half truths.
