The protestors should use Facetime to send AND record encounters with ICE. In case ICE confiscates smartphones for "examination". Don't want the recordings to be deleted "accidentally".

Just for the recap, they removed Pretti's gun he was legally carrying that he was not brandishing, beat him and then shot him execution style multiple times. One may ask why was he carrying it in the first place...as I am sure there are a multitude of reasons why he was that now we may never know. But there is no evidence he was intending to use it on ICE agents (or anyone else) as the only thing he was brandishing at the time was his cell phone documenting the abuse of said agents. I believe he was peacefully helping out another victim out at the time of his unprovoked murder...

...not to mention, even if he was waving his weapon at them, shooting him would of been the last thing they should do. And most certainly not while he was disarmed, incapacitated and restrained.

Edit, also to note: He was not there to protest but there as an observer witnessing and documenting the events as they unfolded and proceeded. Thusly, he was a threat to no one.

Only a matter of time until the White House celebrated the ICE agent who executed Pretti as a national hero. Who knows, maybe even a presidential medal of honor is in order. I mean, they are speedrunning the quest to turn America into Putin's Russia, and honoring murderous law enforcement agents is what they do.

Great. May this be the first of many efforts by past Presidents, Vice Presidents and other high profile officials of the last functional United States governments to call out the now openly fascist Trump administration. It would really really help if George W. Bush found some courage to stop standing on the sidelines. Mike Pence too. Either you’re against this or you’re for it. Silence is complicity.

Canada's outgoing Ambassador to the United States - Kirsten Hillman - appeared on CBS Face The Nation and near the end of the interview the host played a clip of Trump denigrating the sacrifices made by NATO countries including Canada in Afghanistan after which Hillman is asked "what does a remark like that do to the people at home" to which Hillman replies "you know what I think is most important is that we know what our Canadian soldiers have done and I know your armed forces are deeply respectful and appreciative having stood side by side with Canadians".

So according to Hillman it does not matter that Trump and for that matter the vast majority of the American public are completely ignorant of the sacrifices Canadians made fighting for the United States as long as Canadians and the American soldiers who fought alongside Canadians in Afghanistan appreciate the sacrifices. Let that sink in!

Had I been watching this interview live I would have been tempted to throw something at the TV. Here was an opportunity for a representative of Canada to issue a strong rebuke of Donald Trump on American TV over his comments that demeaned the sacrifices of our fallen soldiers and Hillman decided to punt?

I don't know how she became Canada's ambassador to the United States, but I am glad she is on the way out. Of course, I should not be surprised by her response because her boss never worked up the courage to call out Trump over his NATO comment and by now it is too late. Keir Starmer who up till now has been an obsequious lapdog for Trump condemned Trumps NATO comment using the strongest language. What is wrong with Carney? Cat got his tongue.

'Why' is not a question under their Constitution and benchmark court rulings.

even if he was waving his weapon at them, shooting him would of been the last thing they should do
I'm certainly not defending ICE but but a firearm in hand is a deadly threat in pretty much anybody's book.

It was never in hand. They took it off his body, one of the agents accidentally discharged it, which lead to the other shooting Pretti.

Regardless of how we feel about carry laws in the US it's pretty obvious that they simply murdered him in the street because they could. It'll continue happening for as long as people allow it to happen.

He was responding to Utakata, who said "even if he was waving his weapon at him".
He never suggested the weapon was actually in his hand.

I can't believe you fell for that lie. But even if it was remotely true...

...if he was waving his weapon at them, shooting him would of been the last thing they should do. And most certainly not while he was disarmed, incapacitated and restrained.
...there is and was no justification for this, unless you believe they really should be above the law.

He never suggested the weapon was actually in his hand.
Er...yes this person did.

Are folks reading comprehension a little off today? I mean, I get this is a snow day, doesn't mean one's noggin gets left in the garage for the duration. >.<
