So, interesting thing...
I've been consulting for a company working for Adidas for the past few weeks. Now that the job is done, my embargo on some of the information has been lifted.
They're actively looking for a new location and, to my absolute astonishment (and joy), their target area is downtown (with Whyte Ave as a remote possibility due to the high lease costs and lack of large enough storefronts). Their shortlist includes a space in RHW, ICE Distric and 104st. There is a preference for ICE District for obvious reasons, but they are very interested in the RHW possibility, as well.
ECC was the first place approached, but management didn't come up with an attractive proposal, and the lacklustre foot traffic in the areas of the mall where they actually came through was a deal-breaker.
Do you know if this is still in the works?

I can reach out to some people who worked on this with me and check, but I believe it took a bit of a hit from the whole trade war situation. Might not be completely shelved, but I would unfortunately expect either something smaller or something safer (SEC or Southgate come to mind).

I think Adidas has an outlet store at SEC and also the airport.

Karmic revenge at last -- for towing my car from a time-constrained downtown parking area where I was only 15 minutes late in getting to my poor abandoned baby.

Hmmmmm…..curious about this one….wonder if Andrew is working on getting us set on some of this manufacturing…..perhaps more bio-pharm facility construction? With Entos’s new building breaking ground soon plus API’s new $250M building…..could be interesting

Nm,....just found this - apparently they are

Being made at API's new facility this year.....yay!

StatsCan released some head office count numbers and while we're behind in terms of employment numbers and head office numbers compared to Calgary, there's some interesting patterns since 2015. It's small numbers but head office employment for YEG increased significantly since 2020.
