I wonder if some confused person has received one of those, and tried to insert it in a Presto machine for payment.
Not sure if they've been taken out yet but as of a couple years ago Mt Dennis station had a farebox for tokens at the main entrance. It'd be funny to see it fill up with commemorative coins.

It still does, it also has a transfer machine as well. The box is for cash payments now. When Line 5 was first being planned, they were planning for it to be 100% Presto on day one so yeah.. not quite.

My god, the nihilism of the Finch West thread is coming here. It's exhausting to read. Can you guys cool it until it launches? Repeating the same points over and over (and bumping the thread without info) is pointless.

I made my plea 27 pages ago back on January 19, but here we are!

I'm going to time my commute a couple of different ways this week so I can get good comparisons if/when this opens next week

The schedule changes are in place but that doesn’t mean they won’t start Feb 8 with line 5 shuttle buses till we get some confirmation.
From TTC Reddit:

"Drivers / operators also appears to have received schedules for next week, indicating Line 5 commences Feb 8th, with connecting bus route adjustments as needed".

Also on the notice itself it says:
"With the opening of Line 5 Eglinton"
