Has it been funded/announced yet? I assumed this was non-time critical just advanced work.

It's a TOD so the funding is private money. But yes, it's going ahead. In spirit, anyways.... precious few shovels in the ground as yet.

But oh, that beautiful sound wall....real progress on that. ML wastes the first year of a supposed project launch by building the sound wall first.

Part private part public funding between the developer and the Province.

Reports and slide decks will start to be uploaded in the coming days for next Thursday’s board meeting.

I am hopeful the GO Expansion “path dependency” project slide makes an appearance instead of it being a one off.

The links have been updated. The path dependency project slide is front and centre on the CPG slide deck.

I don’t know how to reconcile the “Mount Joy second platform, passing track and turn back signal at Stouffville GO” being labeled as under construction in the CPG Board report while the project keeps having its RFQ pushed out on the quarterly CPG pipeline report.

I’m sure there are other projects with similar inconsistencies.

Here are some of those slides from the GO train and rapid transit presentations.

I'm surprised they are planning to achieve every 7.5 minute service to Pearson with no work package for the station at Pearson.

I enjoyed the SSE update that stated the TBM will soon reach West Highland Creek. We all know what that means. 🤣
Is there a shaft or something in place for the maintenance? Or do we have to wait until they excavate the north end of the station? :)

I’m sure it’s the same 401/409 tunnel from ages ago given it’s labelled green, implying it’s completed.

Has there ever been any considerations made towards hotels when discussing TOD?

With the condo market being what it is right now, Metrolinx should make a deal with a hotel chain to construct hotels near select GO train/ transit stations. Not every single station, but select stations. Where a hotel operator would deem it to be profitable to do so.

A lot of tourists who visit Toronto end up staying at the hotels by the airport. That seems to be where most of the affordable hotels are located. Unfortunately the area around the airport is not the best place for Toronto to be making first impressions.

The "missions" chart is informative - the interesting thing to watch is whether that chart may change with time. Hopefully, it stays constant without erosion or rethinking of the end state - and the progress towards the stated end state reflects commitment to the stated work items. That kind of discipline over scope would be a big step forward for ML.

A few details that I noted
- Some Baseline budgets have been increased, none have been cut
- The Barrie line suggests second track Strachan to Rogers, at Caledonia Station, at Downsview Park Station, but does not indicate continuous double tracking all the way from Rogers to Snider South - despite a lot of work completed to prepare the subgrade for double tracking
- Kitchener line continues to refer to grade separation at Silver Jct, versus east of Georgetown
- Second platforms at Guelph, Agincourt and Milliken are shown as complete - technically true but without usable track, a bit of a stretch
- Construction said to be underway to add second track Highland to Underwood - as we know, there is only one major construction item needed to accomplish that ie the missing bridge. Is it really under construction?
- A Spadina-Front station is now on the map

Pinning ML down on tcd's is never easy but it would be helpful to at least highlight items that are likely to be completed this year. Without creating unrealistic predictions, the reality of the timeline to those more distant items ought to be clearer.
