He highlighted an indigenous-oriented basket weaving course at Carleton University as a ''wasteful'' use of OSAP money.
...while conveniently leaving out that the majority of these courses are offered as mandatory electives so that the school can keep milking the students dry. If I only took courses at my school relating to my program I would be done in 2 years instead of 4.

How do people keep falling for this shit?

Ontario Premier Doug Ford says he “can’t wait” for midterm elections in the United States, after a Supreme Court ruling on tariffs did little to alleviate trade pressure on the provincial economy.

A ruling from America’s top court on Friday concluded President Donald Trump’s so-called “reciprocal” tariffs and duties on Canada related to fentanyl were unlawful, without touching sector-specific tariffs.

Tariffs imposed on steel, aluminum and autos, known as Section 232, are unaffected by the ruling. An additional 15 per cent tariff, which the president announced Saturday, largely does not impact Canadian products.

“The Supreme Court hasn’t changed, thankfully, anything here in Ontario or in Canada,” Premier Ford told reporters. “We’re still keeping an eye on Section 232, but don’t make no mistake about it. President Trump still has a lot of tools.”

Despite the broad strike-down of Trump’s tariffs, the levies that most impact Ontario remain in place.

The premier appeared again on CNN on Monday as part of his drive to convince American voters and elected officials to lobby on Canada’s and Ontario’s behalf.

It’s a strategy the provincial government has been pursuing for more than a year without yet seeing movement on tariffs. Ford has cancelled a contract with Elon Musk’s Starlink, removed American alcohol from the LCBO and visited Washington D.C.

The premier has said the hope of that strategy is to work around Trump’s unpredictability.

“It’s very challenging right now,” he said. “I just sit back some days, and I’m not the only one, everyone in the world sits back, (wondering) how can one person, one man create so much turmoil around the world? Not just here in Canada, around the globe. It’s pretty, pretty staggering. So, I can’t wait for the midterms.”
DoFo doesn't actually need to weigh in on any of this. He thinks he's playing 3-D chess, and he's not.

It truly is astounding how many fall for it. He makes it seem like people just go to school to make baskets

...and not to mention, basket weaving is a skilled profession. Like a lot of things in the arts and crafts movement that can become lucrative while adding value to the economy. It's take a serious degree of pig ignorance not to recognize that and scoff at it's reputation. Just saying.

Yes. Unfortunately, CONservatives scoff at the arts and culture. They only value money, and money only. So, ''Premair'' thinks arts and culture is only something those downtown liberal elites do in their spare time... when the reality is, arts are apart of the economy too. Not that he sees it or understands... but again that's what happens when we as a population, choose to elect someone who dropped out of college after 2 months... he lacks the understanding of how university/college works and why it's important.

He'd have to learn French first, and be more fluent in it than he currently is in English.
I'm surprised people still believe this. Harper won a majority fifteen years ago with only five Quebec seats that was before further seat additions outside of QC. In fact, so warped are some of the electorate that DoFo would probably receive more votes in some corners if he refused to learn French outright.

When we live in unprecedented times like the present nothing should surprise anyone anymore electorally, and nothing should be taken for granted.

When I went to community college, I took a one semester course in speed reading. Found it useful back then and today.

Guessing that Doug Ford didn't, seeing that he would not be able to read government reports completely and having to rely on his staff to give him a "Coles Notes" synopsis.

A new Liaison Strategies of Ontario reveals a tightening provincial race, with the Progressive Conservatives (PCs) and the Ontario Liberal Party (OLP) nearly neck-and-neck among decided and leaning voters. The PCs led by Doug Ford would garner 40% of the decided and leaning vote, followed closely by the Ontario Liberals at 36%. The Ontario NDP sits at 17%, with the Green Party at 5%.

Friday marks one year since the 2025 Ontario election. Liaison was ranked #1 for accuracy in Ontario in 2025, and #2 nationally in the 2025 federal election.

Liaison surveyed a random sample of 1,000 Ontarians from February 20-22, 2026, using Interactive Voice Recording (IVR) technology.

David Valentin, Principal at Liaison Strategies, said the following:

"While the PCs maintain a four-point lead among decided voters, we are seeing a significant consolidation of the Liberal vote, particularly in key regions like the 416 and 905. In October the PCs were at 47% - now they are at 40%. Every month we have seen them shedding one or two points. If the trend continues, they will soon be tied with the Liberals or trailing."

"In the 416, the Liberals have opened up a ten-point lead over the PCs, while the two parties are effectively tied in the 905 belt surrounding Toronto."

"The race is tightening - despite the fact the Ontario Liberals have no permanent leader and their leadership race has barely begun."

"At the same time, the governing party has been airing countless 'Protect Ontario' ads. I've seen them on TV, heard them on the radio, and they even play before movies at Cineplex. It's worth wondering what the numbers would be if the ads weren't airing."

"The poll also highlights challenges for Premier Doug Ford regarding personal popularity. Currently, 66% of Ontarians disapprove of the job he is doing, compared to 30% who approve."

"The Premier’s approval rating remains a point of vulnerability. Despite a strong PC lead in Eastern Ontario and Southwestern Ontario, the high disapproval numbers, reaching over 70% in the North, South Central, and the 416, suggest that the opposition has a substantial audience for their message."

"This is one of three releases focused on Ontario this week, given that the anniversary of the election is on Friday. We'll have more on Ontario, tomorrow."

The PCs lead in Eastern Ontario, Southwest Ontario, and Southcentral Ontario. The Liberals lead in Toronto, the 905 (!!!), and the North.
