Not my photo, but was taken recently and posted to Facebook where I found it.

A notice has gone out to the neighbourhood that they have now started blasting the bedrock, which will carry on for about two months time.

Looks decent. Nice upgrade. Should be interesting to see such a relatively large/tall project in this area of Orleans. Hoping we see more in the coming years.

So dumb question here...are developers allowed to change the final look and cladding of a building long after it has been approved by the city? Digging through the old DevApp files, there are elevation plans and renders that have been signed and stamped by the City's planning department which authorizes the previous design. I'm not against the newer all-black design, but the silver/black look of the previous design was growing on me.

Race is on between this one and 1649 Montreal (@ Blair). They are similar in that both are being built in the corner of a hill. Excavation started around the same time, the Montreal project has its crane up since last week.

Tbf, I don't know the difference in parking garage depth between the two.

This is one of the slowest builds I've seen in a while. Walked by the site recently and although it was hard to get close to the excavation pit to see down inside, it looked like they've only completed maybe one level of underground parking so far. Don't expect this to rise above grade any time soon.

Height adverse Orleans wants it this way.

This project is still inching along at a snail's pace. Drove by the site recently and they are finishing the columns for parking level 1. So they should be pouring the ground floor slab in the coming weeks.
