Looks good. There’s definitely less contrast between the dark sections and and the lighter section compared to revelé but I like the look overall

Tower crane has been raised. More windows and precast installed. They really picked up the pace the last few weeks.

Absolutely massive from ground level. Very nice articulations.

I was very skeptical for a while, but this is turning out quite well so far.

I took these yesterday.

The Marriott is moving at a snail's pace, so we still have some time before this gets covered lol
They seem to be doing about 2 floors a month now. Looking back, it looks like it took three months to get from ground level to the fourth floor. They did the fifth floor in December and are now at the 8th floor. Not as quick as Odenak's floor per week, but certainly picking up the pace.

My uneducated guess would be topped out by the end of the year, so about 15 months compared to Odenak's roughly 10 months (again, from ground level). Renaissance tight location and more challenging floor plates justifies the slower pace.

Yeah if they stick to it and keep it up, end of the year is not a bad end date to get it topped out. What was their next project again?

I'm trying to imagine being without that LCBO for possibly 3 years. Where else am I going to buy refreshments for the Bytowne?

It's interesting how they are handling the radius on the corners. Actually.. in the end all 3 of these buildings will have done it slightly differently. I think I prefer p2 not having the dividing line in the middle or the 4 squares at the intersection. At the same time p3 has less jarring radius. Expect for the sections on p2 where its a continuous bend. As a lego nut its a lot to take in and examine.

Still too early to make a final judgement though.

You can get some beer or wine at the Loblaws, maybe the Metro too

I know. I was just joking around. I've hung out on occasion with street people on the benches there just to have some conversation and swap stories.

Like that time the lady repeatedly kept throwing herself in front of all the passing trucks and the parking lot attendant and LCBO security guard kept trying to stop her short of putting their hands on her. Figure.. how often are the police and or fire/ambulance services around that corner.... absolute crickets until she finally got what she wanted. Or at least thought what she wanted. I was the only pedestrian/witness outside of the guards to write a police report for the driver who was absolutely shaking thinking he'd made the biggest mistake of his life.

Never a dull moment over there.

Finally getting to see some exterior covering on the sunny side. Was a bit difficult to make it against the crane. I like that second storey faux colonnade

That 4th floor looks so squat and short compared to the others.

I think I have enough similar lego to make chunk of this building.

I agree, that 4th floor looks squat because of the set-back.

Hoping that second floor colonnade is used for events and such. I assume it's part of the conference floor. Would be even better if part of it was the restaurant's space for an outdoor terrace above the street.

It's quite the illusion at this point.

Outdoor terrace would be great. This corner is no where near as noisy as it used to be in the Transitway days. It's pretty much just an average downtown street. That being said I never had issue with the rooftop of New Edinburgh pub for a beer after work when it was still rush hour despite the racket. The number of cars I saw smack into the island sign turning right onto Vanier Parkway over the years 🤣 Big concrete block there now. Never a dull moment as they say.
