Am I missing something here? I thought it was -25C all week? Is that slab just freezing solid immediately with zero protection?

The concrete is 100% engineered to cure well below that temperature.

Just seems a bit extreme to pay for high-early and leave the slab exposed overnight like that, rather than just cover it up/provide some heating when they're done pouring.
Also, I'll believe it when I see it, 10 years from now. This type of construction doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies for future concrete deterioration/membrane condition.

I've worked in some pretty extreme climates and have never seen a slab without some kind of heat/hoard, certainly concerning.

Ground floor now completed. Concrete columns being formed and poured.
There is no such thing as concrete that's engineered to cool anywhere near as cold as -25. It has to be poured warm and then kept warm until it cures with blankets and/or tarps with heat under.
