That is one of my dream projects for the city, Council was looking hard at it a few years ago but isn't it basically dead without a massive commitment of cash from another level of government?

This vision is a no go as long as epcor is using mill creek for run off water disposal as they currently are.

Why couldn't they at least go with the nature-focused option? Wouldn't the extra wetlands and other greenery help with flood control?

I'm in favor of option 1. The other 2 options look too overdone.

I'd be fine with any of them, but option 3 would make such a great use out of the LRT station.

Unless you have experienced the amount of water we discharge into the creek, its a bit hard to express the volume of water.
Epcore is aware something needs to be done. I believe the new sewer trunk line will help, but the issue is far from fixed. The water quality is also exceptionally poor.
I would like to see it day-lighted too, safely.

3 reasonable options; I don't think it would be that hard to blend the options into one super solution (and I suspect that is what will happen at any rate whenever the project rises to the surface of possibility).
