Not sure if this warrants a thread, but DP up for a new 4-storey along 83rd Ave.
 
I get that the intention was to spur more development and density in older areas, but there was some idealism and naive thinking that without rules nice things would be built that would fit in well.

What is called gentle density is not always so gentle on the neighbourhoods they are in. IMO the city blew it, they got a lot of feedback and had a chance to make changes to improve things but really didn't do much.

There is going to continue to be blow back which if not taken seriously will eventually undermine the whole policy and eventually the political careers of those who ignore it.
