They also have this under construction a few blocks away on 107st & 78 Ave

WRONG WRONG WRONG location for this stuff. It could be great product, who knows, but this built form is for the densifying the burbs, not under-densifying an urban core.

Much higher density in that core location is the only thing defensible. My Gawd, next thing you know they'll be building stick woodframe downtown. Oh wait...

I thought one of the taboos on SRC was solicitation for business -- not allowed.

I actually think it's an excellent location for this. Townhomes like this are much more appealing to families than the similar size buildings with more units. It's compact and dense. If we want urban density that doesn't just drive families out to the burbs we need more like this. There are plenty of 1-2 bedroom stick builds in this area, it's important that density provides options.

Such a sad loss...that is a truly lovely parking lot! Seriously, though, we don't need high rises around Whyte. But we do need people who live there!

the 2 houses that look like part of the project, one is a hair salon. So having ground floor commercial makes sense in that area.

Just to be clear, this proposal won't affect the parking lots to the north of 81ave NW, correct? Which would be a shame; it'd be nice to develop that parcel too.
