Was this not possible to coordinate with the park construction? The park's first summer coming up and it is going to be surrounded by construction.
A lot of the work was delayed so that utilities for surrounding developments could be completed first; otherwise they'd have to rip up brand new infrastructure to do that work.

Took my kids to the park last weekend and they loved it…almost didn’t want to leave! They stayed in the playground but then had plenty of fun in other parts of the park too. Note of warning: once you’re in your 40s, summersaults and headstands will leave you with aches and pains ;-)

This year feels like a write off for downtown unfortunately. So much good stuff coming. But the park being surrounded by so much construction will sorta suck. Add in valley line and other stuff and it’s tough. 2028 will be awesome.

I think even next year will feel better. Even though things won't be done yet, the construction around the park will be mostly done and the Valley Line will be really far along, and even just having that visible progress could change the atmosphere in the area. I mean, just imagine the pedestrian/cyclist experience in 2027 if they actually finish 102 Ave this year!

Park was busy at lunch today. Zoom in to pics to get a good sense of the volume of people.

Sidewalk blocks will start going in tomorrow. Crew just working on mock up for design approval later today. A guy said a lot of cutting will be required due to the unstraight sidewalk borders that vary by 5cm or more in width in some sections of the sidewalk.
