Also, long standing antique furniture store Cornerstone is closing.

Indeed they will be. That plant produced a plume of toxic pollution that impeded high-rise development in the surrounding area and depressed property values. With that said, it's sad that the building was torn down. It was actually an interesting Victorian or early 20th-century industrial building that was reclad at some point in the 1980s or early 1990s.

I feel that Jojo Fun Scoops is going to struggle in this quasi-no man's land end of the Junction proper. I mean, they were closed from Christmas until now, which says a lot. Not much pedestrian activity this far east - even the new Tim Horton's right next door always seems dead.

The new-ish place called "The Coffee", at the base of Junction House condos, looked not busy as well. Only saw one customer sitting in there while passing by a couple hours ago. Didn't seem too cozy.

I thought so as well but when I walked by around noon today every table was taken...
Osler Records on the other hand is decidedly off to a roaring start after opening this weekend. Next to Rideaway Bikes at the corner of Osler/Dupont. Closed Mon-Tues for now but otherwise open late and serving coffee after 4pm which unbelievably is a USP in the Junction/Triangle.

I felt the exact same way. I was like, where did all these cool people come from and how has this place (Osler Records) been asses to elbows on day 1 and 2 of opening?!
