Great Gulf revised its Tux Condos concept ... going rentals now though Tux Condos Redesigned; to Become Rental Apartments http://urbantoronto.ca/news/2016/10/tux-condos-redesigned-become-rental-apartments

    Toronto Toronto | J. Davis House | ?m | 9s | Mattamy Homes | Graziani + Corazza

Wow really? How can these buildings not be protected with 'heritage' status? It appears that City Planning approval report in 2010 spoke nothing about saving these at all ... http://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis/2010/te/bgrd/backgroundfile-32464.pdf

    Toronto Toronto | Treviso Condos | 91.13m | 24s | Lanterra | P + S / IBI

Palma you may want to double check ... I'm 100% confident that this project was NOT stained precast brick panels, but rather the work of conventional bricklayers which I saw in person when these buildings were rising ... and also evident in drum118 photos below:
  4. Solaris

    Toronto Toronto | Selene at Metrogate | 96.31m | 31s | Tridel | Graziani + Corazza

Glad I moved out of the Metrogate community, can't imagine what traffic nightmare the Village Green Square intersection will be ... it is completely messed up that City Planning would allow 10 highrise condos towers (2 Solaris, 2 Ventus, 2 Avani, 1 Selene, 3 The Kennedys) in a cul-de-sac setting...
  5. Solaris

    Toronto Toronto | Aquabella at Bayside | 50.9m | 14s | Tridel | 3XN

Scaled Model from the October 1st preview opening The Bayside Community ... Aquabella ... The primary view ... The prized terraces ... Outdoor pool on floor 7 ... East wing wall treatment ... The ugly ducklings (back side ... aka 'Urban Collection') North wing wall...

    Toronto Toronto | Flaire | 40.23m | 11s | Cadillac Fairview | Giannone Petricone

Totally agree Ed ... unfortunately Don Mills' harmony will soon be completely ruined by Lanterra when their next towers go up 30+ storeys (Rodeo Drive + 169 Donway)
  7. Solaris

    Toronto Toronto | Aqualina at Bayside | 47.85m | 13s | Tridel | Arquitectonica

Looks like the 'cube' is getting the window wall treatment here ... just like 10 York :)
  8. Solaris

    Toronto Toronto | Garrison Point | 118.56m | 35s | Cityzen | Hariri Pontarini

I believe they are shoring only for Tower 3 at this time (bldg they were selling?)

    Toronto Toronto | Yorkdale Shopping Centre | ?m | ?s | Oxford Properties | MMC Architecture

Accessibility Design Standards Accessible ramps shall be a maximum of 5% (1:20) running slope and a maximum of 2% (1:50) cross slope. A level area ('landing') of at least 1670mm length shall be provided for every 9m length of ramp.

    Toronto Toronto | 39 Newcastle | 119.3m | 36s | VANDYK | SvN

At the risk of being shunned, I will say that I like this proposal ... it presents a strong street wall podium with 2 decently sized point towers that are thoughtfully placed to maximize views and sunlight exposure, a big PLUS is the cladding system here is brick (or precast brick) exteriors...
  11. Solaris

    Toronto Toronto | Sun Life Financial Tower & Harbour Plaza Residences | 236.51m | 67s | Menkes | Sweeny &Co

the 3 towers here turned out beautiful ... unfortunately the podium base (what pedestrians see most) is simply butt ugly and was not designed properly
  12. Solaris

    Toronto Toronto | Auberge On The Park | 148.9m | 45s | Tridel | Graziani + Corazza

I too like the revised renderings ... but I question the 'fluff' greenery shown in the balcony which is erroneously misleading
  13. Solaris

    Toronto Toronto | Sun Life Financial Tower & Harbour Plaza Residences | 236.51m | 67s | Menkes | Sweeny &Co

Sadly ... I can't honestly say "it looks much better now" :( ... blank solid wall on 1 side and featureless continuous glass plane on the other ?
  14. Solaris

    Toronto Toronto | The Gloucester on Yonge | 147.82m | 44s | Concord Adex | a—A

Actually it is 1 connected building with 2 elevator cores The shorter white 'building' features 2 signature suites named "gold" and "platinum" with private direct elevator access (in additional to connecting with the tower's elevators) Floorplans...

    Toronto Toronto | West 22 at Weston Common | 107.59m | 30s | Dream | Graziani + Corazza

I was only able to identify the proper site location using the address "2 Elsmere Avenue" shown on the public notice sign above

    Toronto Toronto | Aqualina at Bayside | 47.85m | 13s | Tridel | Arquitectonica

Because ... that is simply not how a business functions to be viable & successful

As a builder/developer ... the above line is something no one will never say
