My only qualm with this building is where the black balcony glass meets full height vision glass. They should have used either full height black glass or blacken the bottom half of the vision glass.

They look to be similar in form to the wayfinding pillar in the plaza outside Union Station

I always thought that this building would make for a perfect St. Lawrence Market North - though definitely not financially feasible with a $52 million purchase.

Fencing has gone up with neon green GFL banners around the apartments currently in Block 1 (see master plan below). This is the block southeast of Gerard and Parliament. The apartments looked empty so I guess demolition is happening soon!

They've started installing the glass for the lobby

I rode by last night and balcony glass had been installed on the second floor north side of the building.

Well I'm glad it has turned out arguably better than the renderings!

I'm disappointed they went with the beam frame versus the ornamental brick cornice, but overall a very nice addition to the area.

Perhaps as a compromise, they could plant trees in place of the bents which would trace the curve of the now removed off ramp. It would act as an homage to the site's previous use.

Looks like the tallest proposed building in that plan is a 65 storey residential building in the southeast corner.

Interesting architecture, the park needs a focal point though.

Seems like such a wide sidewalk for a stretch of Harbour without any street facing retail or restaurants - even with the bike lane considered. Still, I much prefer it over an extra lane of traffic!

I don't think most people say it's more physically attractive (maybe more cool though) than a dedicated overpass, but rather more financially attractive while still getting cyclists from one side of the valley to the other. As far as I understand, it would be cheaper and faster to build since...

To your point, yes those places do have "backdoor" access - usually not as nice or accessible as the main entrance, but still yes - but it also forces a cyclist coming from the west to go from Beecroft, across Yonge, over to Doris and then circle around to this backdoor entrance and vice versa...

Yep, that's the Bridle Path. And it looks like it's a southwest view from above Edward's Gardens.
