I don't get why there needs to be a full-sized garage. The TTC already had properties downtown to store busses overnight to reduce the storage/deadheading problem (Dufferin Gate Loop, Exhibition Loop, Wellsley Station).

It's "towards" on Line 1 because of the possibility of short turns, and it's "to" on line 3/4 because it's highly unlikely/impossible for those trains to short turn.

I guess it didn't want to deal with another winter, and wanted an early retirement.

The unlimited student pass is now limited to 50 segments and escape fares only, it was 999 segments and escape/economy fares. The 6 pak used to include all economy fares, but is now limited to escape fares only. They also introduced smaller fare zones for the student pass. Already know a few...

I think VIA somehow managed to cut a train set from their corridor fleet. Also I'm a bit disappointed with what their doing with the new student/youth passes. It's definately going to have a negative impact on ridership, but will likely increase revenues and lower expenses.

I saw this in Volendam, and it looks remarkably similar to the red fare vending machines the TTC uses.

The presto readers on the TTC now indicate what type of fare is being deducted (TTC, YRT, etc.) in the bottom left corner.

There are currently 27 trainsets operating in the corridor right now according to the cycling plan I posted a while back. One of these train sets operates on train 85/88 as a 2 car train paired with one locomotive (so it probably won't be replaced). Therefore, 32 trainsets are more than enough...
