I think I said this earlier, but all they have to do is put up a sign saying that you have to tap (which they have in certain locations) and they can fine you under 3.13(a).

I find it hard to believe that a HEP2 is lighter than a HEP1 given that it has more seats and a galley with fridges which requires a larger refrigeration unit. It also doesn't make sense that VIA would favour pairing the HEP trains with P42s which are more powerful, and the F40s with the LRCs...

Someone on twitter said that track maintenance crews left tools on the tracks, but that doesn't make sense because it was a J-train and 62 the leading train was undamaged while 52 the train behind was. It seems like VIA has to reshuffle its trains because of what happened though. I've gotten 5...

Got some photos of Ingersoll station here, first one shows the caved in roof: Orange sign says danger due to construction, red and white sign says danger keep out.

Passed by Ingersoll today and the old station building had fencing surrounding it. I think VIA might be planning to demolish it.

It's for Toronto-London, fares/fare classes are from reservia. The old fares from codes H, G, and N were from the yellow tickets you get at the station I had laying around from the summer so they might not be the most accurate. But all the other fares/fare codes are fairly recent.

I took a look at some of the old fare tables I had, and the fare increase seemed to impact the lower tier escape fares and the higher tier economy plus fares most. The fare codes and their corresponding fares are shown below.

Slightly off topic, but VIA hiked it's South-Western-Ontario fares about 10% today. I know the old TSA with CN expired at the end of 2018, does anyone know if that might have something to do with the fare increase?
