  1. superelevation

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Very sceptical, more doors help - but the internal space on these trains is still very restricted which slows dwells
  2. superelevation

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Depends on who you ask, I am sure that people might want subways knowing they would instead be getting St. Clair++, which does not have the speed, or frequency of the subway. Suggesting that anyone wanting subways was "illogical" is a pretty bad Toronto tendency, a lot of people in the suburbs...

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

We've built no major new urban rapid transit capacity in decades, I am not so confident

GO Transit: Union Station Shed Replacement & Track Upgrades (Zeidler)

The park provides such a good viewing point for the works

Worth adding to this that the "LRV" model is really the tram train model derived from the Citadis Dualis, the design of the train with a centre car with two bogies and the remainder "hanging" on both sides enables more stability and higher speeds iirc.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

I read it, there is no indication that they would or that it would be necessary. Anyways, this is off topic

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

They don't even need to be at every stop - but like King and Bay? It's ridiculous how little infrastructure is there

    Mississauga Toronto | Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I mean it is bad? The region is indeed a region and minimizing confusion is good - if someone wants to go to Steeles it would be good for that to not potentially be many rail stops in different places!

Double stack and catenary work fine together, see Northeast US

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

You keep saying this, but there is literally no need. The 4 car trains aren't usually crammed even in rush hour, if we need more capacity run more 4 car trains - which there is lots of room to do.

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

This is nerdy and there is no right answer, but I have always liked the more sophisticated moquettes from London, going to miss that here.

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

We are talking about electrifying hundreds of kilometers of track in a country that has done zero mainline rail electrification in decades? Why would we put up poles until the last moment, one of the few benefits of our current situation without electrification infra is that corridors have few...

GO Transit: Union Station Shed Replacement & Track Upgrades (Zeidler)

GO Trains do not need to and generally are not frequently mixing with freights in the USRC, and eventually that will be the case across most of the network. The post you quoted also quite literally refers to having better single level trains. There is no reason that we need to have 4-5 minute...

    Capital Line LRT

A low frequency mostly single track extension to Fort Sask that runs every 30 minutes wouldn't be out of the question in some cities, even in North America!

    Arc Smart Fare System

There are absolutely parallel bus routes that cross the river, such as the Highway 1 Express routes, which parallel the Expo Line Surrey branch

Tbf, I was curious and Coaster runs Chargers with Bilevels already - yes Siemens has a ton of orders but that might mean more ability to scale production https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coaster_%28commuter_rail%29#/media/File:COASTER_Trainset_at_Cardiff-by-the-Sea.jpg

    Mississauga Toronto | Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I think people need to stop with the Hyperbole about cities not having elevated rail etc. Eglinton has some elevated sections, the OL will too including through some pretty affluent areas (embankment adjacent to GO). The idea that Mississauga could NOT get anything better than a tram seems...

GO Transit: Union Station Shed Replacement & Track Upgrades (Zeidler)

This is the type of study that should make people skeptical of our studies - this is nuts! - platforms maxxing out at 8 tph?!?!?!?! Assuming we rebuild the platforms to reasonable width you can easily do >10 tph per direction per track, get single level trains with more doors and you can go much...
