GO Transit Fleet Equipment and other

GO will not need additional locomotives post-electrification, in fact they won’t even need as many as they currently have. I assume these engines will replace the MP40 locomotives, but the F59 rebuild makes me begin to doubt that

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Yep they just added that recently for CSA’s to use on the Long Branch restriction announcements, the only issue with it is they have to manually set it off and then run back to their phone and start talking into it, there’s no way for it to chime automatically: This isn’t what they’re talking...

    Toronto 2024 Olympic Bid (Dead)

Redid this map to be a bit less ugly, but it still shows a cool piece of development from the Olympic bid, and what could’ve happened:

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Probably because VIA trains carry far less people, and doesn’t have the resources to sustain a service like that.

GO Transit: Union Station Shed Replacement & Track Upgrades (Zeidler)

I would assume more than 900 now, but by the end of this year that question should be officially answered when the OnXpress research and development phase ends

It did happen at Union, there’s videos of staff opening and closing the doors, letting only a specific amount of people in

There are actually 7 departures at 5pm on the PM Lakeshore West peak, I’m not sure if that counts or not

These people aren’t even heading to GO though, everyone in those photos is heading to the TTC subway

I actually took a video from my experience with the train I was talking about, annoyingly UrbanToronto doesn’t have a video imbed feature: so I posted it to Twitter: https://x.com/wbmetro62/status/1741492648379085270?s=46&t=ZrrkEu2Kej0AAfP6ppJCqg

Was looking at one of the new maps they just released again today, I was always under the impression that the unit where the Queenston is/was supposed to go in was one massive unit, but it turns out to be two: Also find it interesting that they labeled what I think is a construction office on...

Yeah someone pointed out to me that they meant winter early 2024 as in January/February, not winter in late 2024 lol

I remember being on a 6 car train being pulled by a MP54 with both prime movers on, ended up reaching Malton just under 5 minutes early as the crew was pushing it to the max

I feel like that opening date for the blue restaurant is not accurate, it can’t take 2 years to build a restaurant, right? Also another new restaurant in the market is coming:

    GO Transit: Corridor Studies

To cover absolutely everything someone may be looking for in a archive, the Google drive should be separated into 4 categories if possible: 1: Proposed by GO/Metrolinx/Provincial Government 2: Proposed by municipality 3: Proposed by politician/election promise 4: Proposed by developer/3rd party...

I can’t believe it’s already that time of year again! They should operate this service more often

    GO Transit: Corridor Studies

There have dozens upon dozens of studies on potential GO lines since the late 1960’s, some done by GO, some done by the city or provincial government, and some done by local municipalities/developers. Paul isn’t joking when he says that practically every rail line in the GTHA has been studied...

    GO Transit: Corridor Studies

As Dan said above it would be wonderful for stuff like this to get scanned and released to the public, if you have the time one day I would love to see what’s inside this report!
