It's not a priority. Toronto accepts the status quo because it's convenient. We should keep Chicago's name out our mouths until that changes.

It's been demonstrated in chicago that removing horribly placed infrastructure along the waterfront won't be the death of the city. Real world... how about that real world precedent? Billy bishop stans never have any response beyond personal insults.

Chicago turned its waterfront airport into a park, once Toronto does the same and bridges the island to the main promenade we can get on Chicago's level.

With the restored tower unveiled, the ship-like massing of the silos is much more apparent.

I just fail to see what's so hilarious about the prospects for restoring those houses. Are there precedents for these architects not doing it properly, or what?

Looking forward to this, if those houses are given the same level of restoration as at 7 St Thomas this will turn out excellent.

The old facades were cut into panels and will be placed back after the brickwork is restored.

Any word on the plans for the interior? It's a collection of vertical concrete tubes which would require major interventions to fit them with functional floor space, especially for OCAD exhibitions.

Already a Toronto classic, this is the kind of building that gets heritage listed in 50 years.

I like the look of the stairs without glass, it's dark steel so it's quite similar to the city's historic external fire stairs

I saw some glass panels with a dark frit pattern stacked at ground level on a recent site tour, for the solar chimney portion I believe
