About time something was done here. That parking lot next to it needs to go ASAP

    Laneway Housing and Garden Suites

My own concept for a laneway house with a ground level micro-cafe, next to an Edwardian coach house on Wayne & Shuster Lane

    Toronto Toronto | Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

It's not a priority. Toronto accepts the status quo because it's convenient. We should keep Chicago's name out our mouths until that changes.

    Toronto Toronto | Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

It's been demonstrated in chicago that removing horribly placed infrastructure along the waterfront won't be the death of the city. Real world... how about that real world precedent? Billy bishop stans never have any response beyond personal insults.

    Toronto Toronto | Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

Chicago turned its waterfront airport into a park, once Toronto does the same and bridges the island to the main promenade we can get on Chicago's level.

    Toronto Toronto | Bathurst Quay Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | Kearns Mancini

With the restored tower unveiled, the ship-like massing of the silos is much more apparent.

    Toronto Toronto | 576 Sherbourne | 215.75m | 63s | Alterra | Arcadis

I just fail to see what's so hilarious about the prospects for restoring those houses. Are there precedents for these architects not doing it properly, or what?

Is that tree on the island still supposed to be this bare? edit: I'm blind

    Toronto Toronto | 576 Sherbourne | 215.75m | 63s | Alterra | Arcadis

Looking forward to this, if those houses are given the same level of restoration as at 7 St Thomas this will turn out excellent.

    Toronto Toronto | 8 Elm | 218.2m | 69s | Reserve Properties | Arcadis

The old facades were cut into panels and will be placed back after the brickwork is restored.

Any word on the plans for the interior? It's a collection of vertical concrete tubes which would require major interventions to fit them with functional floor space, especially for OCAD exhibitions.

    Toronto Toronto | U of T: Schwartz Reisman Innovation Centre (Phase 1) | 64.8m | 13s | U of T | Weiss/Manfredi

Already a Toronto classic, this is the kind of building that gets heritage listed in 50 years.

Toronto Toronto | The Quay, Tower Three (was Maple Leaf Quay) | 66.44m | 21s | Pacific Reach | BDP Quadrangle

Wasn’t another high rise project planned to cover it?

    Toronto Toronto | 30 Powerhouse | 28.61m | 6s | Neudorfer | AREA

I like the look of the stairs without glass, it's dark steel so it's quite similar to the city's historic external fire stairs

Glad those blank facades are getting covered up, they were pretty awful viewed from the expressway

    Toronto Toronto | Aqualuna at Bayside | 61.87m | 18s | Tridel | 3XN

For once, a residential building that could match the quality of office buildings.

Those rocks would be better for the fish they are adding too

Toronto Toronto | George Brown College: Limberlost Place | 52.5m | 10s | George Brown | Moriyama Teshima Architects

I saw some glass panels with a dark frit pattern stacked at ground level on a recent site tour, for the solar chimney portion I believe
