    Transit Fantasy Maps

How would you feel about running this route as the other terminal branch of the Bloor Subway, given that the SSE is likely to be only served by alternating trains? (Unfortunately, I don't think this would get built anytime in the next few decades)

Toronto Toronto | GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Interesting how they included a Portuguese version of the translation notice for the ethnic community there.

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

I almost got into an argument on Reddit with someone who thought New York should tear all their track out and replace their trains with self driving Tesla buses. Never mind the fact that trains have higher capacity, higher efficiency, lower maintenance, don't have to bring a battery along with...

Population of Toronto (Including Census Counts)

The same can be said for the other BIG group of immigrants in the GTA, Chinese immigrants. Add in the HK/Mainland divide and political views as well for disagreements. The thing is that a lot of immigrants don't have the degree of English fluency that you describe. Being able to get a passable...

York Region Transit: Viva service thread

It's hard to find the right balance with these small-town daytime services. I can't count the number of times where I've been on a completely empty 33 during the day, and fares wouldn't cover minimum wage let alone the drivers' wage and overhead. On the other hand, the 60 minute advance call-in...

    Richmond Hill Toronto | Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Aggressive would be putting it lightly. How many busses run that Finch-Steeles gauntlet? TTC has 53 and 60, but YRT also has: 88, 23, 5, 77, 99, 2, 91, 300, 303, Blue, and Pink. Signal priority won't cut it. That being said, I don't think any of the YRT busses stop south of Steeles, so I...

    Richmond Hill Toronto | Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Like it or not, York Region's transit decisions have long been based on a YSS which goes up to Hwy. 7. The Finch-Hwy.7 section of the Blue/Pink route has not been BRTified, because the subway system is anticipated. (Come to think of it, this is the exact situation as the Steeles bus turning down...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

There's plans for McNaughton and Wellington, but besides that there's not much point in separating crossings with minimal traffic. Plus two-way service won't be any further north than Wellington, IIRC.

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

The sound is fine, it's just the equalization that's kinda iffy.

And... it's gone from the website. Replaced with a vague title of "State of Good Repair Contract Award" Nice eye though.

But... there's nothing on earth like a genuine, bona fide, electrified, six-car monorail!

Rest in Peace GO-TTC co fare. You will be missed. January 8, 2018 - March 31, 2020.

    TTC: Streetcar Network

Point taken. That being said, the Broadview section is clearly not scheduled to finish in April, so the options are either the pole changing crew at the TTC's claimed deadline, or another few months of busses.

    TTC: Streetcar Network

I thought the current plan was to station crew at Broadview to lower and raise the poles.

    TTC: Streetcar Network

Bets on the "late April" date staying in place? One would hope that with COVID-19 going around they could finish the central section soon enough. (Also, any bets on when the Broadview section will be pan-ready?)
