Thank you Jarndyce. End of an era for Sea-Hi.. funny, my parents never took us there when we were kids (1960s). Families of Chinese descent would be found eating at Kwong Chow (now Yueh Tung), or Sai Woo (long gone). Sea-Hi (and Lichee Gardens (also long gone)and Nanking on Elizabeth) were...

A contributor to this thread in the past - 'JTCunningham' - has passed away. Toronto Police are looking for his next of kin. John was often seen around St. Lawrence antique market and was a character in dress but always level headed and nice. I had coffee with him a couple times years ago but...

Hi UT-ers. This is a re-post; after a fashion. I posted some of these pics in May 2018. Then, the post disappeared about a month later. I asked Craig/interchange42 what happened; and he said nothing from their end, so maybe I deleted it in one of my absent-minded hazes. So here they are...

lol. DSC.. Yep, Chop Suey... 'chopped into pieces' in Cantonese. Now just a quaint phrase from the past. It's always fun to catch one of those old signs in bygone days pictures.

I grew up at 2616 Yonge and remember the fascination of seeing rail tracks being ripped out in about 1964 when they did a deep repave. They were where the parking lane is now; just a couple feet from the present curb.

The 'Queen Live' landlords booted out about 4 food businesses a couple years ago to upgrade inside. They finished the work about a year ago but no takers for spaces. Lost opportunities here given how much foot traffic walks by daily in front.
