Yeah seriously this has become one of the best blocks in the area!

Yup, went this past weekend! It's pretty nice, definitely worth a visit!

    That's too funny 🤣

    Sunalta Heights | 88.39m | 27s | Housing One | S2 Architecture

I'm pretty bullish on the future of Sunalta, I suspect in the not too distant future 10th Ave will have quite a few towers and once the city gets around to the main street upgrades on 10th I really this will become a really sweet little spot!

    Sunalta Heights | 88.39m | 27s | Housing One | S2 Architecture

Nice to finally get an idea of what the first tower is going to look like in relation to the overall development. Still bumbed they aren't doing the 2nd right away

    Calgary | River Valley Condos | 14m | 4s | Genco | Max Tayefi Architect

I just wish it connected to Nose Hill drive or Silver Valley road! It would shave an entire 30 seconds off of my commute through Bowness!

Haha that's quite the downgrade 😂

    Calgary real estate market

I'm not an expert, but if interest rates start taking a dent out of the housing market wouldn't that cause a shift towards more purpose built rentals? Presumably our population will continue to grow and demand for new housing remain. Do interest rates affect developers ability to finance their...

    Calgary | Capella | 21m | 5s | Brookfield | McKinley Burkart

NGL, I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the city with a couple years. It has all the benefits of inner city living without a lot of the cons (as previously mentioned), not to mention it's arguably better planned than Calgary's inner city...

Calgary Bike Lanes and Bike Paths

It would be great if they were able to extend the 24th Ave improvements all the way to U/D. Once the University District is fully built out 24th will be a major road within the neighborhood so it would be nice if there was some connectivity east towards the university and even Banff Trail

    Calgary | Oliver | 121.3m | 35s | Centron | Gibbs Gage

10th Ave is listed in the cities main streets program, so it's not really a matter of if, but when, it gets overhauled.

    Calgary Skylines

Some photos from my jobsite today. Kensington is looking pretty dense!

    Calgary | Twenty3 | 19m | 6s | Eagle Crest | FAAS Architecture

When I watched the council meeting about this (and the other developments on the south side of 24th) they actually approved the DP's so that they could be used in court to justify scrapping the covenant. It was a rather contentious council meeting to say the least.

    Calgary | Twenty3 | 19m | 6s | Eagle Crest | FAAS Architecture

I know this development had to go to court over land use covenants. I wonder if those have now been resolved?

    Beltline Mural Project

That's great! I've always thought this was one of the ugliest buildings in the city, but a massive mural will seriously improve the overall look of the Beltline.

If I'm not mistaken the land use application for this project seems to have been resurrected. https://developmentmap.calgary.ca/?find=LOC2018-0250 Hopefully this means this project is moving again!

    Alberta Provincial Politics

That pretty much sums it up. I'm generally a centrist / disillusioned liberal whose feeling pretty out of options politically. On many issues I'd lean left, but watching some of the insanity on the left these days makes it harder and harder to stomach voting that way. That being said, while I...
