    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

TD bank at SW corner of Queen/Spadina, and the future site of the OL station, closes for good on 22nd July. The first tangible sign in the area of the impending construction….

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

There is a decent-sized curb on each side of the Spadina ROW, and people (including me on occasion, I admit) cross the ROW between intersections. I believe that the speed of the 510 is limited to 11 km/hr (source) because of ridiculous pedestrian behaviour.

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Place | ?m | ?s | Infrastructure ON

To be fair, none of the parks that Cormier has worked on has the name Ontario in the title....

    Toronto Toronto | 101 Spadina Avenue | 133.95m | 39s | Devron Developments | AUDAX

Placement of the park on corner of major streets was cited explicitly as a feature (not a bug) at the community consultation last night. It was super-annoying to listen to the CreateTO and the developers make out that the park was a public benefit and the Developers gifting to the city. The...

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line: Queen-Spadina Station | ?m | 1s | Metrolinx | HDR

I don't think that there is space on the SW corner for a sidewalk entrance. The sidewalk is pretty narrow and cluttered here.

    Toronto Toronto | Queen-Spadina Transit Oriented Community: South Site | 52.67m | 15s | Infrastructure ON | SvN

They (IO) say that they will respect the Queen Conservation District guidelines, and the development of the NE corner will minimize shadowing on Ogden P.S. and its playground. (Ogden P.S. is located just to the NE of the that site on Phoebe St.) We will see I guess... There are still underused...

    Toronto Toronto | 25 Mabelle | 159.05m | 49s | Tribute | BDP Quadrangle

If you insist on living in a location which increases your at-peak daily commute so that you can occasionally use transit to travel off-peak to other stuff, then you should pay for the privilege. You know it makes more sense to live close to your job, and use transit for occasional ad-hoc...

Toronto Toronto | York University: Neuroscience Laboratory and Research Building | 10.8m | 2s | York University | HDR

The new building is attached to a building that is currently being used for neuroscience research - so coincidental. However, there is a reason that the current building is next to the football field - it was the location of York's varsity Ice Hockey teams back in the day when it was the Ice...

Yup, allowing someone who actually wants to use Transit to live next to the subway station. This would be a better use of the taxpayers subsidy. Have you considered living closer to Brampton, or next to a parking lot?

    Toronto Toronto | 11 Brock Avenue | ?m | 4s | City of Toronto

Only four storeys on this site for the next 99 years doesn't seem appropriate...? (It is steps from a streetcar line.) I support the city partnering with non-profits to develop sites to meet the chronic lack of housing, but it does seem to come with under-development. Is this a funding...

    Toronto Toronto | Hyatt House Downtown Toronto | 44.81m | 15s | Manga | Sweeny &Co

Bummer! I hoped for something that reflected the red brick buildings in the area. This is so grey and generic. And all the trees are to be lost which breaks the line between the road and sidewalk which runs all the way up the west side of the avenue I think. AmJ

    Toronto Toronto | Wallace Emerson Community Centre & Park | ?m | 3s | Almadev | Perkins&Will

We are actually in need of more, not less, NHL-regulation sized ice surfaces in the downtown/inner suburbs area. 1. We are pretty short of surfaces for organised hockey anyway, and opportunities for adult hockey (particularly for women) are being pushed out. 2, There is insufficient...

    Zoning Reform Ideas

Someone asked this question at the 5th Jan community consultation meeting, and was told that an addition to their SFH would not trigger a requirement for a density increase. Presumably, an amendment as Northern Light suggests, would do so. The planners were also asked about the how they came...

Only 6 storeys on an avenue street on/near two transit routes? Seems unambitious. A&J

    Ontario Line : King-Bathurst Station - (North 25 s + South 25 s) - Infrastructure Ontario

Seems like the same issues exist for the Queen-Spadina plans - huge lobbies. The docs are up here: NE corner: here SW corner: here My interest is the NE corner, and the absence of a substantial entrance and some sort of micro retail fronting Spadina seems like a lost opportunity. Long...

    Toronto Toronto | Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

Bacon, ketchup and HP is a British thing - I can’t think of many things yummy-er! Some of the stuff people put on poutine on the otherhand, well…..

    Toronto Toronto | York University: School of Continuing Studies | 29.26m | 5s | York University | Perkins&Will

Each university president likes to leave a legacy building. Pres. Marsden left the Accolade Building, Pres. Shoukri left the Bergeron Building. This building is an accurate metaphor for the legacy of the current President. Better off without either of them.

    Family Sized Condos

Not unique to Toronto though - I have read first hand accounts of three adults and two kids living in 900 sq.m in Madrid with no outdoor access (communal areas are closed to use). It is tough times for many. We also have friends in Washington DC who decided to tear out their kitchen and...
