Lots of landscaping happening on the rooftop terraces: Zoom crop:

Kinda sucks for the occupied units below/nearby if it was a sprinkler test! There were people out in their balcony looking when it was a trickle, but once it got bigger they went back inside as it was splashing into their balconies.

Not a good picture, but there's a big water fall coming out of one of the unit right now: Edit: looks like it just stopped. But it was a good 5+ minutes of water coming out.

News on retail chains (was: New Mall Retail)

I liked BBB myself. Their return policy was really good, but could be that's what got them into trouble?

Canadian Soccer Association to bid for 2026 World Cup

Isn't that the case with most of these big events? e.g. Olympics, Expo(?)

There's a dry cleaner/tailor at Loblaws on Lower Jarvis. They quoted me 19$ to shorten pants, which I already thought was a tad on the high side.

Love the glass, but not crazy about the fin/trims, both in terms of colour and how busy it looks.

    St Lawrence Market

The nearby Rabba's will enjoy an uptick in business! Metro is somewhat far to walk with heavy groceries, but not so bad if you have those shopping trolleys(?) - would still suck in the rain/snow though.

Oh the memories ... I graduated in 99, and visited a couple of times in the early naughts. This looks relatively "simple" and so should fit right in with the existing (bland as I remember it) buildings.

I like the idea of those panels, but I don't like that they are so dark. But on the flip side, I hate these buildings (like Berzcy and Wonder) where it's nice red/brown brick bottom, and then white (non-brick) tops. The materials here don't look as bad as the other two, but yeah, it's just...

Sherbourne, one street of two cities

I would say Dundas to Richmond/Adelaide. I recall the Timmies on Richmond and Sherbourne has a security guy in there every now and then. But Dundas/Sherbourne is fairly notorious intersection sadly.

I find it disappointing that Fletcher is joining/leading this NIMBY-ism.

Those white columns look so new - did they put them in there for support only to be demolished soon after?

Whoa!, flashback to Cineplex with the tiny screens!

What about an art/museum gallery? I don't know how many floors Is now available, but I've always been very meh about walking through Eaton/Sears/Nordstrom to get into (or out of) the mall proper.

    Toronto Toronto | Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

It's too bad Daniel's Lighthouse (West Tower) spiral didn't get this kind of prominent visual treatment. It's so subtle + the crappy spandrel that it's so drab. The pattern here is not that exciting, but at least you won't miss it.

    Toronto Toronto | Social at Church + Dundas | 164.89m | 52s | Pemberton | RAW Design

From Feb 11: I can see what they were going for, and it could have been pretty good IMHO. But the materials/colours used in the execution makes it very bland. The somewhat interesting balcony angles pretty much gets lost.
