Are all those window mullions trying to make it look like an old industrial building? (like the ones on Carlaw south of Gerrard). I don't mind the look of the building overall, but all those black lines I'm very meh with.

The seemingly terminal decline of Tim Hortons

I'm pretty impressed by Harvey's biodegradable straws. There was a bubble tea place who's straws became a soggy mess really quickly.

Hear, hear on mostly parkland south of Queens Quay!

Too many mullions and spandrel. :( I like the black, but yeah, just too many lines IMHO - it makes it look busy, and also cheap. Give us really wide floor to ceiling windows!

It's been an eyesore down there. I do hope they can finish this up in a timely manner!

Well there's already an existing plaza with a grocery store in the area. I think the new road is more for the residential towers and an alternate access(?) to the station. Still don't like it though.

Yeah I feel the same about the new road - it's taking up way too much space. Without, the park could potentially be 28% of the site which is much better. Considering that they are getting rid of the Gerrard St. park, it'd be nice to have a bigger park to replace it. It's just so bizarre, so...

Yeah the fact that the wood structure is effectively hidden makes it pretty meh to me. I was initially quite excited too, especially as it was building up.

I wonder how much of the pattern will be loss/obscured once there are residents with lights on?

The step pattern is almost the only thing I like about it. The unclad wood was great, but no that it's all covered it....

I lived/grew up around this area and I really like this addition to the neighbourhood. The colour could've been better but I think it'd be amazing to see more of this in this area. I know Elevate is happening just south of this building - albeit at a crawl.

Canada Qualifies for 2022 World Cup.

It kinda sucks that people (and teams) are only really complaining *now*. It's been what?, 12 years since Qatar won. I have very mixed feelings ... I want to boycott and not watch, but at the same time I want the Canadian team to do really well.

Yeah it is pretty early to say. I do think the towers are a tad too tall for the area, and the podium looks very chunky in the rendering. And there's so many cases where they cheap out on materials, etc. But I'd definitely like to be wrong!

It feels too big for the space IMHO, kind of like Time and Space. But it's really too early to say for sure.

    Planned Sprawl in the GTA

Not sure if this is the right thread, but I found this on BBC regarding 15-minute cities: https://www.bbc.co.uk/ideas/videos/the-simple-idea-that-could-transform-city-life/p0cqty38 It's one of the things I really liked about the Japanese cities I've visited; all the mini-(well, sometimes...
