    Transit Fantasy Maps

there's no real room for an elevated extension along Sheppard west to Downsview unless the line ran directly above the roadway for most of the route which would be pretty unpopular. The elevated structure would need to be about 12m wide and stations a minimum of 16m wide (from examples in...

    Transit Fantasy Maps

Hadn't even thought of the benefits for people in Durham to have a subway connection to LSE. Anywhere in Durham to anywhere east of yonge would be made considerably easier

    Transit Fantasy Maps

I think personally there I would instead split line 4, with a branch to STC and UTSC (potential then to Rouge Hill but the demand in between is certainly not going to be there for a long time) and then the other branch going to Malvern via Sheppard-McCowan. If the demand is there I think then...

    Transit Fantasy Maps

The only issue is there's not a tonne of room for elevated track or even a station around the Stouffville corridor, as many of the buildings in the area are fairly historic and I'd like to see their demolition avoided Any issues with transitioning between above and underground too much really...

    Transit Fantasy Maps

Caused issues for some lines and some systems, but I've never heard of substantial weather issues on the above-grade sections of line 1 and 2. Could def be wrong there though

So I went about making my own fantasy Sheppard East alignment, but went a bit overboard, and made 11... Lemme know which you like best and what you'd change🤔 Also realized stations are only on the legend in the last on oops

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

With future intensification, it could be though. It is certainly the case east of Kennedy.

    Toronto Toronto | Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

If I'm being honest i don't dislike the new design much more than I did the old design. Not a fan of either.

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Not sure if this method has been used anywhere recently but I doubt current safety standards would allow for streetcars to run on temporary decking

had a lil too much fun with this

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

I thought VIAs HFR plan would take trains through Peterborough to get to Montreal and Ottawa? So really there doesn't need to be all that much expansion in this corridor from VIA just GO. It may cause complications to serving Durham-Kingston but shouldn't be a problem connecting to Montreal and...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

I mean someone probably just forgot to update the name though technically parts of the project are still in the design phase🤔

    Hamilton Toronto | Hamilton Line B LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I think that could be an excellent solution to avoid cutting down all those trees. I Believe the CityLynx Gold Line in Charlotte North Carolina uses the same technology/idea having no catenaries through uptown charlotte, though the segment without catenaries there is far shorter than 2km

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

i mean they'd have to remove the roof and thanks to a lack of elevators it wouldn't really have any benefit. In fact, we could technically have an accessible station if we use the existing Stouffville track which would be better than the srt

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

it'd be convenient if there was a go station right where an srt station would be now that can help take some of the load off of the future busses 🤔 rip Lawrence-Kennedy GO. It would be very easy and cheap to throw together a station there even if temporarily because there's already a pedestrian...

Ontario Line North of Eglinton (was Relief Line North) (Speculation)

yea going to Richmond hill centre makes 0 sense to me. makes far more sense to head east to downtown Markham and maybe unionville

Ontario Line North of Eglinton (was Relief Line North) (Speculation)

science centre station would definitely benefit from a better transfer than what is currently proposed though because there is so much currently empty land around it (parking lots) i think this could probably be achieved without tunnelling, though crosstown community already takes up some of...

Ontario Line North of Eglinton (was Relief Line North) (Speculation)

I actually think the station at Sheppard could benefit from being underground to provide a better transfer with line 4. Don mills has buildings packed pretty close on either side just south of Sheppard too so if the line dipped underground very briefly after crossing the 401 and coming back...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Don't think I've seen this posted anywhere: https://ontario.transportaction.ca/improving-scarborough-bus-connectivity/ Certainly an interesting proposal.
