Ridiculous comments and claims made by City Councillors

https://twitter.com/TorontoStar/status/1001064302248452096 This is such a fiscal conservative thing to do. Call all public services a waste unless it's you wasting.

    Toronto Bike Share

I know not everyone here is downtown but multiple times I've seen those dockless orange bikes thrown onto the actual street at Yonge and Dundas - let alone littering sidewalks randomly. The dockless bike concept fails to account for the fact that we live in a big city.

General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

Roncesvalles is horrible. Teeny tiny stretches of bike lanes squeezed between parking areas. It's completely useless and such a fake attempt. Sherbourne I like, but it only happened because there's no street animation from beginning to end and hence no push for on street parking.

General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

WAIT A SECOND I thought there were no bicycles and bike lanes were %99.9 empty.

Why not build higher than a mere 6 stories if there is going to be a subway here?

    Toronto Toronto | 346 Davenport | 36.27m | 9s | Freed | RAW Design

The prior policy was to squeeze them all in the downtown east area between Yonge Street and Parliament Street so that the precious rich middle class wouldn't have to face their existance, which was pathetic. Spreading these facilities around is the right approach instead of concentrating them in...

Like I said, I don't hate it as much so I don't want to split hairs but: Danforth is a 25 minute walk away, not 10. Also, how's Rosedale an amenity? Lastly, St Jamestown won't just clean up with all that tower renewal fluff. Toronto somehow thinks you can squeeze in more towers and magically...

I'm not saying it's horrible but it's not on my top 10 neighbourhoods to live in the city list either. More than safety, it's just that lackluster street animation in this area that I find uninspiring. Not as bad as waterfront/gardiner adjacent condo neighbourhoods, but still.

I filled out the registration form but haven't received any returns other than the initial confirmation. I'm not really excited about living on Sherbourne and I think this will be way too expensive for me.

    2018 Ontario Provincial Election Discussion

Dumbest thing I've read so far. You can't jettison power purchasing agreements. Manitoba and Quebec don't have year round surplus that'll meet Ontario's needs... Seriously, Green Party. You deserve to be at the bottom.

    Toronto Toronto | id8 Downsview | ?m | ?s | Northcrest Developments | KPMB

You're misusing the term 'elitist'. It's like calling doctors elitists for recommending vaccination. Low density suburban development is wasteful and irresponsible. It's not elitism it's math. If the entire world was built like that we'd probably run out of oil in a decade.

2018 Municipal Election: Toronto Council Races

I'd definitely risk trading him for someone less useless. We should have higher standards.

What riding do you live in?

University - Rosedale. Am I bothered by the representation of relatively sparsely populated Rosedale in the name? Maybe.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

I don't think it'll cause/lead to gentrification that much, if at all. This is a line that is only slightly faster than other surface routes and what it does is to get you to Finch West station, which itself is still quite far from where the middle class likes to work and play. It's not a...

It's not only paying for it, but also Choice would need to design its site to allow for that substantial pedestrian and bike connection from east and through its site to the west. There isn't much in it for them, however. A bridge is still possible, but it'll be far trickier and more expensive...
