    I can't imagine once they start this that it will take too long to finish right? Tearing out old parking lots, doing some utilities work, and landscaping shouldn't be too long of a construction period.

    I'm curious if anyone had heard anything about plans for the old warehouses behind this site between it and The Edward? They are mostly empty from what I've notice and would definitely not be missed if they were redeveloped. They also have a red outline around them in the photo.

    I think context matters. In my opinion empty lots 100% should be the priority, but I would also consider condemned buildings as empty lots as is partially the case here.

    Is the phase 2 podium that's built going to be residential? I can't imagine too many people would want to live below a tower construction if that's the case.

    I'm surprised this is the first news on the lots of this 124th section, with the stop right there this will be prime real estate! Hopefully developers are willing to get stuff built rather than sitting on the sites for years speculating.

    Lots has changed since the last census, but aside from the Edmonton and Calgary CMA's, pretty much everywhere else in the last census saw very little or no growth in population which is a big problem if the goal of the province really is 10 million people.

    Definitely some truth to this, there are lots of big redevelopment pushes in the city and the cities growth isn't perhaps as astronomical as some were hoping, which doesn't help Blatchford when in its current state isn't the most desirable. But Edmonton is still growing and bit by bit I think...
