Our leadership is small minded and cruel and unfortunately a lot of Torontonians and Ontarians like that. Of course our cowardly mayor who has been holding back the city in his timidity for years is nowhere to be seen, but it seems like he has accepted his subservient position to our...

I'm honestly not sure what the rules would be here around the trees — some developments seem to have to save trees sometimes (I believe, maybe I'm wrong), some don't. Would be interested to learn more about exactly what determines that. But no, I'm not at all hopeful that they will save them...

My question is are they gonna keep the sign or tear it down too. Either way looks incredibly bad.

I welcome the much needed redevelopment of low density homes into apartments, but let's hope they preserve the trees.

This is moving fast, wow! By the time I'm back in the area it'll be quite tall I imagine!

Honestly what kind of leadership does this in a middle of a crisis. As if we don't have other things we need to pay attention to. All this province knows how to do is to pick fights with people and be negligent.

This is the same anti-democratic provincial government that flagrantly disrupted our municipal election while it was in process out of spite and for their own political gain — and our political disenfranchisement. And after outcry didn't back down but rather threatened to use the Notwithstanding...

The way this is building out Wellington looks so good from this perspective above that @aznih_aznih posted. This is doing a great job of filling in the transition between the tower zones south of the tracks/east of Spadina and the topology of the King West area.

I like how the open structural V creates a sense of vertical space above the street.

Pretty nice, gotta say. Nice materials and use of shape + multiple retail units and space for pedestrians and the public on the very crowded sidewalks of Dupont. Sounds great, bring it on.

Don't understand why developers can't anticipate significant areas like this that are going to need to be spandrel and just proactively integrate them into the design and make them precast instead. Is the promotional render value of showing full-glass walls just super high and people working...

I feel like part of the issue with the lights on the diamonds is that they're trying to get a point source spotlight to project light too far and too intensely down a narrow beam than it can reasonably do. If the diamonds were half the size I think this plan would have worked out perfectly, but...

Okay I almost fully take back the extent of my criticism in my previous post with these new pics that ushahid posted above from richardjohnson_ca on Instagram. It definitely looks much better in those actually quite striking. Perhaps still a bit too subtle — could have been a punchier visually —...

This futuristic train track overlook portion is fantastic. The partial decking over of the railway over the next decades in various different ways like this or more significant is going to be pretty cool to see happen and lead to some really interesting new kinda industrial futuristic spaces...

Yeah unfortunately from what I've seen so far in these pictures, the lighting on this building is a big big big disappointment (granted pictures might not capture it and they haven't finished adjusting it yet). It barely looks coherent IMO. I really like the building otherwise, but I hope this...

It's wild how big the Union Park buildings look — tall and substantial in all respects — next to even this new proposal which itself towers over the tabletop of the Entertainment District.

Happy to find that I was wrong about the colour being just sunset glare! Lighting and restoration of the heritage facade looks good too.

    John Street Revitalization

Cycling on John St. used to be part of my regular commute — looking at these photos is giving me flashbacks and making me glad that for all the bad this past year has brought at least I don't have to navigate that nightmare anymore haha

They've got hats now lol Which I think I like — resolves the top more. It seems every time we see new models or renderings of these they have a different cladding and surface detail, but always kind of ambiguous and difficult to discern what the models and renderings are actually trying to...

Way back in the thread ADRM said this was a Humbertown design at College and Spadina and I haven't been able to look at it the same way since 😄😆 It really is such a strange building. In some ways I kind of like it in its massing, but then it has this odd quality to it — the incongruous...
