2018 Municipal Election: Toronto Council Races

I'm the thread creator - I thought I'd be able to run a new poll every week or two but when I tried to delete the first one I couldn't. I messaged the mods a few months ago but it's still up.

2018 Municipal Election: Toronto Council Races

This thread is way off track. We have a crazy council election in less than a month and we're arguing about gender politics and constitutional minutiae? Take it somewhere else.

I'd hold my nose and vote crisanti. One of them will win and their voting records are basically interchangeable, so might as well send a message to uncle Douggie.

Toronto Municipal Election 2018: Mayor’s Race

She's doing it for the free publicity - Toronto mayor is the largest direct election constituency in Canada. Provincial elections are either small (MPP) or cost a lot (party leader). A few wingnuts will fund a bare bones campaign so mayor is extremely low risk.

    Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

You should read it again. All four judges agreed that Ford's move was unfair to voters, alarming and inappropriate. The appeal ones just didn't think it was unconstitutionally-bad.

to the contrary, chaos is the intended result. It'll take years to make council effective under the new structure, which supports Doug's dysfunction argument. This paves the way for a strong Mayor system in time for Mayor Mikey in 2022.

As opposed to “intellectually dishonest and eager to offend”? Political correctness just means don’t be an asshole to someone living a different life.

    Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

Ford didn’t do shit. His result was about the same as the PC approval rating right before Brown got sacked. It didn’t matter if someone had a raging Ford boner or held their nose at the polling station, the PC votes were already locked up.

This will be long forgotten by 2022 or 2023. If anything she’s proven her loyalty to the cause.

    Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

Debating whether Doug is a crudely effective simpleton or a cunning genius of distraction misses what's going on. He is a disruptive moron, as anyone who has worked a file with him knows. He is actively stirring up shit because that’s all he knows to do. His back office (Jenni Byrne et al)...
