Language barrier for tourists in Quebec?

Or maybe it's because compared to us, Montrealers are a bit more friendly?

    Fairview Mall

I was wondering what they were going to dump there. Personally speaking though, Fairview needs a huge overhaul but I guess it's going to be one wing at a time. Rainbow didn't really do much, they splashed on some paint and that was about it. When i went there, it was eerily similar to the...

    Toronto's own Monopoly spot

Oh and mathmatically, the red squares are the most coveted as they are the ones people land on the most.

    Toronto's own Monopoly spot

Gah, I meant Paris, not France. That's what happens when you try to type up something 1 minute before you rush out the door to go home from work

    Toronto's own Monopoly spot

I did my part for Toronto even though I'm not exactly fond of the city... That being said, which other cities did you vote for? My list included New York Los Angeles Shanghai (although on subsequent visits i won't vote for this one) Hong Kong Tokyo London France Sydney Moscow

    TTC Drivers in Crisis

Well I have a slightly different experience and memory. As a kid (this was in the early 80's) I remember a subway driver let me into the cabin to help steer the train. I still remember that little lever/knob steering mechanism. But yeah, things are different now. Fact of the matter is...

Canada removes U.S., Israel from torture watchlist

I can't help but think this is all tied to the fact that Canada is "incompetent" over in Afghanistan. The military or someone close probably took offence and named names but then Harper et al. needed it retratced because the US "apologized". But yeah, politics.

i bought my first place :)

Thanks for the spam. Don't the the BANHAMMER hit you on the way out (actually, let it hit you, let it hit you hard) t(-.-)t Could we banish this topic into the depths of nowhere while we're at it?

    Coffee Time

Coffee Time was the last place I looked for them. After Tim Hortons stopped selling them I was in panic for a year. Finally went into a Coffee Time (one being close to my house) and lo and behold, there they were. Not very fresh though... Sometimes I wonder if i shouldn't just buy...

    U.S. Elections 2008

Real Poilitik It's not about how thing's should be (ideal) but how things actually are (reality). I never gave Hillary two 3 year terms. I said the max she could go is two 3 year terms. I would personally say she could get away most likely with one 3 year term because her ego is likely to...

    U.S. Elections 2008

It's politics. In the US there has been a lack of inspiration lately. Inspiration meaning "sound bites". Kerry "endorsing" Obama does little to help the cause (being as Kerry is more or less an "also ran", not as bad as our Dion though). When it come to todays democratic outlook it's not...

    U.S. Elections 2008

It'll work if he keeps to himself. It'll seem fresh if he stays in the shadows after the election. You underestimate the power of misplaced and rose-coloured nostalgia!

    U.S. Elections 2008

I just think strategically, something that has been lacking in politics and military operations around the world lately. Besides, even on the merit of something like "writting history" you could sell the idea to the progressive voters. Get the youth/fringe vote riled up even if it is just a lie.

    U.S. Elections 2008

With the way things are going, I'd like to see Hillary as the new President for this round and Obama for the next. Not really from any political viewpoint but just to "make one for the history books" so to speak. It will be ages before another female will have such a strong showing as Hillary...

Yonge St south of Bloor: Will it become more upscale?

I wouldn't mind a complete tear down and rebuilding so long as they make more underground PATH connections. All these tall buildings are going to make for one hell of a wind tunnel, especially in the winter!

    Historic subway cars vandalized

I know it is vandalism and all but for some reason I don't care about those old subway cars. I distinctly remember having the lights grow dark/dim way too often in the tunnels as a little kid. /cue boogeyman/axe murderer themes

    U.S. Elections 2008

As per the Simpsons, if I were American I'd vote for Ralph Wiggam!
