    Montréal Transit Developments

Here's the article from LaPress that Montréal Gazette was referencing.

    Montréal Transit Developments

    Whatever dude.

    Montréal Transit Developments

Cough cough, to all those with rose-colored glasses thinking Montréal is doing transit so well you need to read this.

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Yes, I think it's extremely probable that the similarities will be numerous.

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Yes, even gentle density along Danforth would be progress.

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

The thing that reassures me is that density will come with the "subway", and slowly you might see Eglinton W urbanize...of course this is probably a 10 year plus reality.

    Montréal Transit Developments

REM B will be a completely separate contract and awarded to most compelling bids. As it's ridership will probably have different patterns from REM A, different needs and possibly different rolling stock will be suggested. This line will also have a separate maintenance facility and a different...

I would also be surprised if they didn't go with 3rd rail to minimize visual impacts.

    Montréal Transit Developments

Gossip on the forum. I think if it is built as currently planned the city may consider that decision, but it would be a fairly radical decision as it is a major thoroughfare.

I would normally agree with you if the allowed lane closures along the route to beautify RL, but as that's not happening, the stroad status will only be more unbearable with an elevated structure.

    Montréal Transit Developments

I think it's an urban planning crime it won't be tunneled through dt.

I always thought putting the OL line terminus station halfway between Exhibition and King-Liberty with an underground connection to both.

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

The business case for extending it becomes more compelling with an OL extension to Sheppard, the GO expansion of Stouffville line AND line 2 extension.

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

The article strikes a really good balance of explaining concerns with the "consultation" of the Ontario line, while also articulating that we cannot capitulate to NIMBY's/anti-change advocates if we ever want transit built. The irony of Metrolinx being run out of Queen's Park is that it cannot...

    Mississauga Toronto | Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

What could be done is an expropriation tied to upzoning at adjacent properties to create a grid network.

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

Something to look into is whether there is a clause tying IO's with setting tolls on parallel routes to 407.

    Richmond Hill Toronto | Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Plans for phase 2 of Ontario line should be announced in the next 5 years.

    Mississauga Toronto | Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Now to get the conversation going of extending Waterfront LRT along lakeshore to connect to this station.

    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Easy to get results when you weaken any mechanisms to oppose projects and farm out construction/design to private consortiums. It's good we're making progress.

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

We can all agree this project has been poorly managed and horribly delayed. I think that can be somewhat attributed to Metrolinx' PP3 model and the consortium of companies that were awarded the contract. And of course we have to consider how many complications a megaproject like this can run...
