Gilles Saucier is one of the few architects working at this scale who uses glass as a material to its full potential and not as a means to an economic end. It really goes to show that good design can be applied to any building typology, construction material, budget, etc.

The overall effect will have to be judged with time, but the detailing of the railings right down to the mounting brackets are top notch. One really has to appreciate the quality of design and finish which sets this on a different level than almost any other project in the city at the moment.

    Toronto Toronto | 333 College Street | 39.01m | 11s | Urbacon | RAW Design

I was in attendance tonight so I'll give a brief summary of the discussion. The principal players were Councillor Joe Cressy, Marian Prejel from city planning and Roland Colthoff from RAW. The applicant or developer took a back seat on this one. The tone was fairly contentious from the outset...

The glass mounting brackets add some nice fine grain detail to the facade.
