    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

You’d didn’t list any infrastructure or improved signage or enforcement of illegal maneuvers by drivers (driving through intersections or blocking traffic when turning left and getting stuck behind loading streetcars). These are still major problems and must be addressed.

Of course everything you say makes total sense. But you neglect to acknowledge the wealthy donors that live between Nanwood and Wellington. This includes Bill Davis. It’s the money (and influence), Lebowski.

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

Must you always be contrarian? Are you doing this on purpose, to troll? It’s obvious to anyone that spends any time on or around King Street that vehicles regularly block pedestrian crossings and/or intersections at a rate much higher than the average intersection in the city. This is due to...

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

If the pilot is to become permanent without addressing the MAJOR issues of (a) horrible enforcement of illegal through-traffic and (b) ZERO enforcement of pedestrian crossing and intersection-blocking due to left turning cars getting stuck behind loading streetcars... then it will be horribly...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

But you guys, cost doesn’t matter. Scarborough deserves Respect.

Now that the loop has been cut, can anyone explain how the connection to the Miway Rathburn stop / City Centre transit terminal will actually be made? The map doesn’t make sense to me. The route indicated on the latest map take the LRT right over Square One, parking lots and 403 ramps.

Isn’t there a Tree thread for this topic? Oh right, there is https://urbantoronto.ca/forum/threads/the-toronto-tree-thread.28771/unread

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

Does anyone know if the city of the TPS give two s**ts about enforcing the rules of the Pilot? Walking on King today was an embrassament, dozens and dozens of cars passed through prohibited intersections without a care in the world. It is really disgusting. I am inclined to make complaints but I...

General cycling issues (Is Toronto bike friendly?)

Joe Cressy and his office are useless. Those two weeks it will take for 311 to investigate will be about 1/5 of the time it will take Cressy’s office to bother replying to a complaint, if at all.

That is quite the small comfort.

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

Just spend some time at King and University, take a video, post it here, then tell us again that pedestrians only disobey the advance green right/no walk only at the end of the advance green. My video wasn’t the best example to illustrate this, being taken around 9 am on a Sunday, but it served...

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

No, it is not that way currently. See the attached video at King/Bathurst. No cars were turning right at that moment but anyway it illustrates that the green arrow comes before the walk sign. It’s actually the pedestrians that typically don’t obey this set up and just walk through on the advance...

Road Safety & Vision Zero Plan

I agree that there are a lot of Uber and Lyft cars on the road. I don’t agree that there are many of them that have “drunk or stoned” drivers. Certainly not any more than there are regular taxi drivers that are terrible drivers.

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

But we already have advance green arrows along the ROW. There was a learning curve but pedestrians have largely gotten used to them. When I drove along King and turn right I usually do it without incident. As for cyclists having their own phase, yes that is a good idea when coupled with...

Roads: Six Points Interchange Reconfiguration (City of Toronto, UC)

It isn’t obvious how to report this to Google Maps. Unlike for other things like roads or buildings. I’ve tried reporting the lack of a yellow marker for the TYSSE indirectly by reporting issues with the various stations on the line. But Google ignores it.
  16. P

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

This is quite possibly the best idea anyone has come up with. Drivers will notice and respect a red light. They may or may not notice and may or may not respect more signage, gates, or physical barriers, and it isn’t realistic to have cops standing at every corner. I don’t understand why this...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

This isn’t about hatred. See that’s what you people don’t understand, it’s always personal with you. You have never gotten it and you never will. This is about the ridiculousness of building a subway where all measures of ridership and established development so obviously don’t match with the...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Of course I was exaggerating to make the point that the mindless supporters of this project don’t care about the cost. I’m sure that if it does cost $10B those people will claim every dollar is worth it to Respect Scarborough.
  19. P

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Unfortunately it could cost $50B and that wouldn’t dissuade the supporters of this ridiculous white elephant.
