Yes theses photos were taken in January 2023 and it’s not likely that this building will be completed by September 2023. I would predict Q2 or Q3 of 2024 for the 18 storey tower. However, the lower rise buildings (I believe that are 5 or 6 storeys) could be completed in Q1 of 2024.

Yea that makes sense, it’s great to know the city centre has a future. However, it’s sad that a lot of projects in Pickering never progress as they were originally planned to. Phase 1 should’ve been completed this year.

In the Durham region blog post they stated that “all buildings will be developed in 4 to 5 years”. However when I listened to the meeting myself, I heard it will take 4 to 5 years before we see any building rising above ground. Can someone confirm which one is right.

This will be a big change to Downtown Whitby, will try my best to find any details on the status of this project.

If I’m correct the initial plan was the land owners vision for the property. I only wish that Pickering Casino would’ve followed that site plan, would’ve been a true landmark and bring so much economic growth to Durham.
