I guess you better stay away from Vancouver or Montreal then... we're very fortunate in Toronto when it comes to numbers of beggars and homeless people when compared with other large Canadian cities.

It's true... Emirates is the absolute best airline I've ever flown with - not even the likes of Air Canada Executive First or Lufthansa come close to comparison - and those are considered quality brands in the airline industry.

I live in a 2-storey skyloft where west-facing is floor-to-ceiling wall-to-wall glass, and even with the motorized window shades down, from April-October the air conditioning runs constantly. Stunning to look at, but very energy inefficient!

Mississauga, city centre and all, is probably the best example of a suburban agglomeration this country has.

The TTC isn't simply placing "another order" with Bombardier, but rather the single largest order of light rail vehicles in history as well as a sizeable subway car order - that plant will be humming for years thanks to the TTC. Having them manufactured so far away, and for many years...

Of course a rail car fabrication facility would have to be set up at a place like Downsview, but Alsom was willing to build a new facility in Quebec for new subway cars in Montreal - costly, but entirely feasable. Bombardier already has significant operations at Downsview.

This complex shipping process from Thunder Bay seems just a little ridiculous to me - they should have just fabricated them at Downsview or something instead.

Well I wouldn't go so far as to say "perfectly" northern European... but certainly a step in the right direction! :)
