I guess it is not hard to imagine Dermot Sweeny and Gord Perks butting heads on this. No shortage of ego between the two of them.

JCI is doing great stuff. Encore!

Struggling to get 10 storeys on this side of the tracks, and getting 20+ storeys on the East side of Tracks? Density designed by a good architect in a midrise built-form typology is not the enemy.

What developer is trying to do this?

Wow...that is scandalous. One of the stranger decisions I have ever read. A single row of Townhome units and a semi or detached home on Weybourne is technically permitted as-of-right in the ZBL. Decision doesn't even mention that. Smells really fishy to me.

    assuming it is cancelled?

    Toronto Toronto | No7 Rosedale | 16.76m | 4s | Platinum Vista | Hariri Pontarini

Any update on where things are at with this development application? I think it looks great! Exactly the type of density this city needs. People often over-look how many of these walkup apartment-style buildings there are in Rosedale and how they really make the neighbourhood more diverse and...

Typical Perks Politicking, but he repeatedly took jabs at the developer eluding to how he thought (and apparently previously told the developer) that 12s is too tall and not happening. The crowd ate it up...

Went to the meeting last night. NIMBY crowd out in full effect. Basically a bunch of neighbourhood stake holders/home owners, trying to prevent new people for living in the hood. No love for condos (despite condos being the cheapest form of housing the development community/Free-market can...

This is really bad for the development industry. Not an easy game when construction costs are moving up at a faster pace than sales prices. I was looking forward to seeing this building in real life. Renderings looked good.

Does anyone know what the developer is doing here?

Looks like aA is doing the architecture! Great news for mid-rise fans. Hopefully Planning staff and City Councillor Perks support this one. I believe they fought this developer's Sorauren project all the way to the OMB and then awarded them and urban design award for best mid-rise. go figure...

I guess this is what you get when a bunch of finance guys start developing buildings on their own. Buildings start to look like excel spreadsheets. Ha.

This project looks awesome so far. Curious to see how the finishing details pan out. The steel structure sure went up fast. Wonder what the cost premium was like for steel?

excited to see how the 40 Bond details work out.

Fair enough. Not sure I'd call this a "major issue", but perhaps these projects will provide the necessary impetus for the City to actually give this messy intersection some attention.

    Toronto Toronto | Junction Point | 27.6m | 8s | Gairloch | a—A

Actually over capacity? Or just a busy Toronto intersection that happens to be poorly designed? I'd personally get rid of the Old Weston cut through and clean it up.

    Toronto Toronto | Junction Point | 27.6m | 8s | Gairloch | a—A

would've expected for more height here given the absence of a consistent Right Of Way on this stretch of dundas w the traffic island and the metrolinx lands.

Agree regarding planet storage. Good news all around for this site. Such an eyesore currently. Seems like a tricky but good midrise site. Any word on the architecture? Apparently Perks has had transportation staff studying this intersection for awhile and there are plans underway to reorganize...
