Roots announced around a year ago that they were planning on renovating the Eaton Centre location to their new concept flagship. They seem to be renovating it in portions so the store doesn't have to completely close during construction.

Looks really good. The windows have been papered up for so long, that this is such a nice change to see some animation at street level.

I believe Retail Insider confirmed a few weeks back that Uniqlo is 100% confirmed for a non-street facing space (around 150,000 square feet on two floors). I would take that map with a grain of salt.

Shot of the north Saks Fifth Avenue sign from today. The square logo for Saks is actually set forward from the rest of the sign. Looks like possible lighting might be going in behind the square logo to illuminate it at night.

This looks great! If the same owners of Dineen are behind this, I expect this to turn out fantastic. Any plans for retail space on street level, I wonder? This could be a great location for a small cafe for OCAD students nearby.

Yep - during the grand opening! I usually workout at Equinox Bay Street, but nothing beats a second location to change up my routine!

I've never found it hard to get a seat at Quantum. The space only has four-seater large tables, usually only taken up by two or three people. Just ask a group if they don't mind sharing a table with you. I've never been turned down the multiple times I've been. A table alone however... gonna...

Speaking of which, they have already placed up the "Nordstrom" sign behind the coverings. It's a silver-plated cutout logo - you can see it from the top of the escalators by Zara.

About time the "Eaton Centre" sign was replaced. Was starting to look dirty. I always found it funny last year when CF put that press release out, saying the mall was called "Toronto Eaton Centre" and not "Eaton Centre", yet the sign still up was a huge contradiction.

+1. Off topic, but the only time one needs to go into the Apple Store for technical support is usually for a broken/non-functioning phone that needs replacing or a repair. Most Genius Bar issues seem to be software problems, which can be solved by Apple Support online or over the phone for free...

The Toronto Subway font is iconic for the TTC brand, but they should keep it on larger applications like titles / headlines of documents, and of course on subway station tiles. Doesn't work very well on a map for readability. Good step for getting rid of it.

Adidas is currently closed for renovations. Signage is up stating a re-opening of February 2016.
